I lasted five days of not talking to one of my best friends...now that i think back on it it was pretty stupid, but we were both as stubborn as hell. But neither of us could have last THAT long!! I luv lil Arwen though. Fiesty lil thing, isn't she. Lol. And I'm glad their together!! Kuteness!! ^_^

    Chapter V of 11
    Well we got our reconciliation.
I think Glorfindel may have faded if Erestor hadn't come to his sense, swallowed his not inconsiderable pride and humbled himself. Things were still kind of iffy until Erestor saw the pendant. Sweet.
I love you and that is all it took. How powerful those three little words are.
Oh a helpful push by the Powers that be. We aren't talking about the gang of four here are we?
Now we have the unburdening of two old souls. At least they won't be wasting the next two thousand years in pain and remorse.
The gift of love that Erestor gives is more than the gift of his body. So in that respect Erestor is truly innocent. He has loved no other.
Oh yes they will have to be a good example for the pyn neth. As if they will pay any attention to that. giggle

    Chapter IV of 11
Rue his stubborness. Oh yes we all have the occasion to do that. Sigh.
Oh no Glorfindel has been hurt by orcs and Arwen is giving Erestor the evil eye.
Now it is Erestor's trun to castigate himself. He was cruel and unforgiving. So now it is suffering angst and with a lot of regret when he sees what Glorfindel is packing under those breeches. Oh my it is getting warm again. Did someone put miruvor in my vanilla coke?
Are they still friends. That is sad. Poor trying to be invulnerable Erestor. You can't cozy up to that on cold nights you silly elf.
Two thousand years. Elves are really stubborn aren't they. Well will Erestor take another two thousand to get his act together the way Glorfindel did? Guys, guys let this go. Get over it and get together.
I liked Elrohir's comment. Is Erestor sure that it is over. Elrohir must really believe in love. Well we know he does. He waits a long time for his. Another chapter will tell us if it is too late for the steward and the warrior. giggle

    Chapter III of 11
The gang of four realize what is going on here even if Glorfindel is unable to figure it out. He is still reeling from the huistaistake he made, centuries ago and just this morning again. He is so slow he just didn't pick up on the signals from Erestor yet again.
Poor Erestor. Feeling unloved and unlovable, unworthy, probably bedding everyone in sight so that he could feel better about himself. A vicious circle of humiliation and degradation to try to prove he was up to someone's standards. No satisfaction that way.
And Glorfindel loves his pen neth, he still wears the pendant given to him by his pupil. He must tell Erestor the truth no matter how much it hurts or what the outcome. Erestor needs to know he is and was worthy.
I like Elrohir speaking from the heart and Legolas standing there so oblivious. Sigh. Another elf who is a little slow on the uptake.
Well Glorfindel was brave and honest to Erestor. Of course Erestor has a long, painful past to get through here before he can just up and forgive Glorfindel for destroying his life those many centuries ago.
I did like the thought that Erestor could hate Glorfindel for hurting him but Glorfindel's pain was self inflicted, skewered on the lance of self folly. Hence he could only wallow in self hate. Great comment.
Now the healing can begin. giggle

    Chapter II of 11
Things were looking really good there for a little while and then Glorfindel just stuck his very large foot in his mouth. He has no way with sweet words at all does he? It is obvious he hurt Erestor before and now he does it again.
Oh dear he will have to trust those four after what they did but I did love Arwen's "stuff it" comment. I think he needs help of the hst ost order.

I only did what I thought was right. Famous last words if I have ever heard any.

Well that was just heartbreaking. What an idiot your Glorfindel is turning out to be. I do realize that he felt very uncomfortable having his star pupil enthralled with him. But what an idiotic way to tell him so. He could easily have let Erestor down easy and said when you come back from 'Lorien let's see if you feel that same way. Of course we would not have nearly as fun a story would we? Grin.
I loved the contrast between the young Erestor, beautiful, openly adoring of hir nin and then when he returns he's grown up, gorgeous, reserved and living behind a shield. Sigh. So Sad. giggle

    Part I of 11
Glorfindel. I love Glorfindel. I missed him so much in the movie. Oh you made him a two time loser at love. And he's so handsome and desirable.
I like Erestor too. Since we know absolutely nothing about him a writer can make him anything they want. Actually both are fun to read about because so little is known about either one of them.
Oh good. We get to hear the story of Erestor. Here he is another elf that Elrond has fostered and trained. Since his training was mostly from Glorfindel, Erestor developed hero worship of the balrog slayer. Well who can blame him. This ended when Erestor returned from 'Lorien. HMMM We need to learn more about this. Oh Elladan why do I not believe you when you virtuously declare you haven't played a prank in half a millenium.
So three hundred years have gone by since the tryst and Legolas and Elrohir have maintained their friendship, their close friendship, their very close friendship. Just not that ~close~ of a friendship. Well they are elves, they have lots of time. We all kind of figured out how much Legolas fears love and it's entanglements.
Yes Arwen will help in this non-prank, she is still a bit of a hoyden. I loved that. So let the prank begin.
Is it getting hot in here? Oh my. That was lovely. Stupid Elrond. How dare he break the mood. They didn't even stay together. We need to get them together again. giggle

And you do it once again, taking a seeminunreunrelated story and bringing in aspects of the struggle between Elrohir and Legolas. You write with such purpose. Even without that allusion, this was a beautiful love story, full of pride, passion, and emotional agony thrown in for good measure. Reading this, I realized that is it your extensive vocabulary, as much as anything else, that impresses me. The way you use words is enchanting; it is a simple thing to read straight through these stories, as they are masterfully written.

You're not really serious as to taking it off are you, i think i know this Melanie you speak of, she has been putting the same things at a story of mine, as to it wasnt of her liking, but i really hope you will not take it off, its such a great story, it would be really sad if it would be removed because of some girl that doesnt like it.

Wonderfull! For a moment I thought Glrofindel was going to do something he would later regret when he came at Erestor like that. Anyway, things worked out very well. Good job!

Yay! And they finally got it together.... now what's this going to do for Legolas and Elrohir? ;) I still think Arwen's tongue is going to get it's fair share of use (with words!) against the prince and her brother. :) Can't wait to find out if I'm right. *L*
