That was so sad! I wanted to cry!! You really really really didn't have to explain it... where did you come up with those ideas? *Shudders* Nevermind.... But "Let me warm you" is an interesting phrase to start *Ahem* Nevermind. lol. Very sad, but i understand that it needed to be written because its a very important step in their relationship.

    Chapter VII of 12
I liked Arwen being a little raw around the edges as she begins to take over her mother's duties. Of course she can't miss an opportunity to boss her brothers around, all three of them. She'll have a long time to practice so with time we know she gets it right. Like Elrond I thought them tending Celebrian's roses in her memory was a good thing.
Going to visit 'Lorien and the grandparents shows that life does go on. The twins will keep on questing and Arwen will spend more and more time in 'Lorien with her grandparents and Elrond will continue to foster his brother's descendants waiting for the right moment to strike against Sauron.
And Legolas must go home. He has stayed far too long and his father needs him. But for one last time he will warm Elrohir as he fears the elf-knight is slowly repressing all his anger and pain until it will be too hard to reach him. Or is Legolas slowly accepting something he doesn't want to admit. giggle

    Chapter VI of 12
This is the part that was so sad to me. Galadriel does not have permission to go to Valinor so she will never see her daughter again. Celeborn will never leave Galadriel so to the both of them it will be as if she had died. So sad. Of course we know things turn out well but they didn't know it.
And then of course her children's choice. Elrond will do his best but when I first read the books I felt all his children stayed in Arda and he and Celebrian would have none of them with them. I think I must be a little bent to the angst side.
Another couple who are storing up memories to last who knows how long.
Ah a little bit of foresight for Elrohir and Legolas. Their fates are the same, entwined as it were. I think Elrohir "knows" no mayhap about it. His only apprehension would be the reception of the woodland elves and his father-in-law. It will take a long time to get his wish.
Arwen. Well store up memories here also. She will be happy but it will be a brief happiness and the end will be bitter. giggle

    Chapter V of 12
That shivery word FADING. And then followed by the sad words going to sail to Valinor or the Undying Lands. Elladan's "I never thought it would come to this" was so poignant since we knew it would and that any hopes they had were doomed. Wh sad sad day for them all.
Of course it is Elrohir who takes this news the hardest and just like Legolas he blames himself. I am sure if he had been along he would have been killed or worse and Elrond would have lost both his sons to death or a fate worse than death. Always blame the bad guys, the orcs, goblins, rabid men, whatever.
Well here we are back in crt mrt mode again. Elrohir needs warmth, closeness, comfort, affection. From lust to companionship, the next step in their relationship. Yes Legolas those feelings are still there and still confusing to you. Nine hundred years is a long time to exist on memories alone even if you are an elf with perfect recall. Yikes.
So Legolas finds that Elrohir still needs him, wants him and is unnerved by Elrohir's continued desire or is it his body's ability to accomodate that desire so easily. Lovely scene with Elrohir almost worshipping Legolas' body and the comfort it was giving him.
I think Elrohir cherishes Legolas even more for his always keeping his promise. giggle

    Chapter IV of 12
Everyone is relieved to have the three warriors home, alive, unharmed and safe.
I loved the placid domesticity for Celebrian's sake. That must have been quite a sight to see. They would do anything for Celebrian and it seems she would do anything for them until her facade cracked. It takes a lot of energy to maintain a facade. To live a lie, damping down past pain. Finally it mes mes unbearable and you just snap.
I thought Erestor and Glorfindel were a nice side note to this chapter. We needed them and their sweetness. So much passion would melt the snow and they are off to make up for all those lost centuries.
Oh bad scene and now they face the inevitable. Sigh. giggle

    Chapter III of 12
I really liked your very nice description of a Peredhil, all earthiness and brawniness. Yes those were great musings.
That was a great trap and they rid Arda of a few more of the filthy vermin.
So the twins are veryativative in the killing arts. It would be hard to see his great friends in the brutal and pitiless warriors that just keep going, like the Energizer B. W. Well Arda is going to be a far different place soon and these are the skills that will keep the twins and those who depend on them alive.
Legolas thoughts on his mother being at peace and safe in the Halls of Waiting while the twins mother still fights for some measure of peace. Really hard to know what to wish for. When will Celebrian and her family find peace. Well we already know but your protaganists don't.
Elrohir's deep passion a virtue and a bane for him but his love a treasure to those he loves. No wonder Legolas will do anything to keep this love but not really want such deep passion to burn him with matrimonial love. It could burn him and leave nothing but ashes.
Ah Legolas and his wise words and yes he will support them as often as he can even though alis dis death seems to get to him. So they will go to Imladris for the rest of the winter. Good giggle

    Chapter II of 12
The whole household must be in an uproar with ale sce screaming going on. Elves don't need what we consider sleep but they need peace and they're not getting any.
As if Legolas would let Elrond's family go through this alone. Elrohir needs him and he will be there for him.
Poor Elrohir really feels things deeply. After Celebrian's latest breakdown he just can't take it any more. So he will begin the incessant hunt for orcs to kill. He will enjoy this too much but he has to get it out of his system.
An even tempered Elrohir would not be "our" Elrohir so we will take what we have thank you. Elrond is right. This fight will never end till they got to Aman.

    Chapter I of 12
Oh dear, it has happened. How horrible the damage was to Celebrian. It had to be bad though or she would never have left her children. I have always feltsorrsorry for Elrond. His whole life in Middle Earth was loss. In the movie he was bitter but in the book he was as merry as atherther elf. Good, kind, loyal and very giving.
So Legolas will stay the winter and succor poor Elrohir and his family. They are going to need a lot of comfort and love to get over this awful tragedy. giggle

*sob* Another tear jerker. You are remarkably talented, to be sure. You even had me cringing at the detailed description of the orcs toture session.

My gods, I think that was the besory ory yet. It was so complete in itself, having everything from pain and sorrow to love and romance. The further allusions to Tolkien only give your writing greater credibility. You take uncommon care in preserving the world he created, and for that alone I would applaud you. However, I believe you have outdone yourself in this story. Can it be that Legolas is coming to accept his feelings for Elrohir? Or does he still just do what he thinks is a friend's duty? You have madm som so compassionate, to twice in that short period to give what he once feared to give. He is truly growing, but I am not certain it is sufficient. He still regards Elrohir as nothing but a close friend or brother. Elrohir may content himself with that for now, but it must, at some level, hurt him more knowing that, though Legolas loves him enough to yeild to him, Legolas does not share the same love for him. Or perhaps I am seeing something that is not there...

    AWWWWW.....
I just love your series. The growing relationship between Legolas and Elrohir is just beautiful. I have read too many stories where they just jump into bed with each other after one chapter, but your stories show real feelings behind even the simplest gesture. I eagerly await the next part!!!!!!!!!

I love this series and watching how Elrohir and Legolas' relationship develops. Elrohir is wonderfully affectionate and vulnerable in regards to his feelings for Legolas, who he obviously loves. *Sigh* So good...

It was to be expected that Legolas would comfort Elrohir in this way. Very nicely done again.

You know I have voted for you on:
