    I can just imagine Thranduil delivering that lecture! That would certainly explain why Legolas puts on few airs and graces around the Fellowship. I think they had better make haste in the bath (or should I say, baths, as I have a feeling that two separate baths will be quicker than one together).

    Very touching! I liked the way Legolas express his concern about Gimli feeling guilty and Gimli concerns about Legolas possible death by grieving after his death.

    I think the boys are going to miss lunch. There is definitely a 'new' feeling to their relationship - they seem to have trouble talking to each other. Gimli remains silent about his feelings of guilt, while Legolas is happy that G has has a sense for his mood, but refuses to talk about why he is upset (which is rather contradictory on his part - he seems to be saying that he wants the closeness but he won't let Gimli get too close).

    This is a lovely, fresh look at Gimli/Legolas. It's good to see Thranduil treated fairly and Legolas' brothers are quite interesting. Gimli's reaction is a novel look at the character - it's perfectly understandable, however.

    Chapter 2 is terrific! I like Legolas' family alot, nice that his father is not wicked! I really enjoyed how luxurious Legolas' rooms are and how worried Gimli is about keeping his elf in the style he is accustomed to! Also, it was very realistic for Gimli to be so upset about what happened to his father.

    I am sort of lost, though, because they talk about their earlier times therther at Lothlorien and all. Is there another story that tells how they got together, or are there going to be flashbacks?
