Is this story discontinued? If it so the author tortured me with this fine story (at least for some time). My heart went out every time I read it. Too often I almost crying when I read how Legolas got unfair treatment, resentment, and any other thing that I can't named. What kind of elf who could be so inhuman inelf like Thranduil?! If I could I would kidnap and tortured Thranduil in the depth of the lowest ground of Moria till he lose his will to live. I'm pretty sure the dwarfs wouldn't mind. They even could take turns when I'm tired. MUAHAHAHA >:D *cough* It's a shame I just found this jewel. It's been approximately 7 years the last time this story has been edited till I read / reviewed it. I trying to do not hope much for continuation of this story. Even though chapter 19 would be nice to soothe my mind and heart after read such heart wrenching story (T_T) Hell I even didn't sure if the author would read this comment. Hahaha

I'm hoping against hope that this story will still be updated. One of the best stories here and it's a deadfic? That can't be, alright? It's a damn shame if it is. So, I'm hoping it's not.

PLEASE UPDATE? You did promise us a happy ending for Legolas. :(

Hi, I'm the Anon from 12/15/04. :-) Apologies for not commenting earlier when I first read the latest chapter. You may have disliked this chapter but let me assure you, it was devastingly angst-filled and wonderful to me. Also loved the brief moment at the end when Legolas finally realizes that Glorfindel is attracted to him.

Anyway, I really do hope your paper was completed to your satisfaction (was it published?) and that you will be able to return to this fantastic tale. I check frequently now to see if there is an update and heave a heavy sigh when I see that it has not. How about some chocolate lembas to feed your muse? ;-)

I'm still reading this very intersting story. I must admit though I find it hard to keep track of what's going on. I do hope you'll let us in on more of the details. I really have to work hard at trying to understand where you're going with it. Keep writing!

It's been almost 4 months since this was updated. Is this a dead fic? Never to be updated again?

    I hope not.

It'll be a shame to leave such a beautiful story hanging like this.

I discovered this story doing a random "Legolas" search. and what a find it is. I can't believe I read all chapters in one sitting. My back's paying for it but it is SO worth it. This is so beautiful. The subtlety and quiet restrained energy. It's just so perfect. It's so heartbreaking, yes, but this is the first time that I'm looking forward to having my heart broken.

I hope that you still have plans on updating because it will be such a waste to leave this masterpiece unfinished. I am so hooked with this story. I am definitely in it, through the whole ride, till you cross the finish line.

Very, very, very, very good job. I hope you update soon.

This story is sooo heartwrenching!! i had tears in my eyes. of all the stories i've read this is definitely one of the better ones. I know u've promised us all a happy
ending.. dont' forget to stick to that!!!! sad endings to tend to leave one rather unsatisfied and with a sense of unclosure (correct term?). I can't wait for your next post.

Oh, happiness!! You updated at last! I thought this latest chapter was wonderful, but that might just be bias from relief after so long a wait! And I'm so thrilled to see Legolas and Glorfindel coming along. Things should start getting really interesting. (grin) Oh, and wonderful angst. I LOVE the angst! Absolutely beautiful!
    Eagerly awaiting more!!!

Ah. I was wondering if this was going to be another one of those Legolas-abuse fics that fades away, unfinished. I am glad to see that (hopefully) that will not be the case. And I am also glad to see that despite all the angst (and, yes, I confess that I like Elf angst too) that there will be something of a happy ending.

That was an unpleasant interlude that rat bastard Thranduil subjected Legolas to. I am almost surprised, though, that he handed Legolas over to his guards - and that his guards (seemingly?) handed Legolas over to those who cared for him - to care for him. Does Thranduil not know his own guards? Certainly there were nasty enough ones that Legolas ended up with, after the public punishment.

All I can say is wow!! I was driving my husband nuts, I found this story and would not get off the computer until I finished it. So now I am like everyone else. Please update soon. Do you have any idea how long this story will be? Are we at the middle or close to the end. I can not stand too much more torment on my poor elf. (Did I say my...I..I...I meant THE poor elf...yeah that's it) I am hoping that Glorfindel will come backand retreive his poor love...maybe he can knock Thranduil for a loop for leaving Legolas and then go find him. Just a thought. PLEASE either have Thranduil realize what he did was wrong, or for him to get his comeupness. Maybe even from Legolas' twin...when Thranduil reaches the shore. Okay I better stop rambling, so that you can get back to writing, (HINT HINT, NUDGE NUDGE)

Well I know at least that I'M still reading... The angst just makes the happy parts sweeter! Go ahead Glorfindel... get him drunk! Thranduil drives me crazy. I just want to beat him over the head til he starts treating Legolas decently! I hate it when people are so set in their perception that they can't see anything else. More soon(ish)

Is there hope for an update? Like, a christmas gift for everyone of some sort?

I hope there'll be a point where Thranduil realizes his error in his treatment of Legolas. And for Legolas to finally find peace and happiness. *sigh*

    Please update. Please???

I just discovered this story and I'm impressed. Poor Legolas suffers unrelentingly and your readers are suffering right along with him. I'm sure I missed something as I'm a little confused by Legolas' past. Is Legolas of Mirkwood also Legolas of Gondolin then (for the purposes of this story)? If so it makes for a very intriguing bit of history.

Although this probably won't be addressed in the story, I can't help but hope that Thranduil will eventually realize the depth of his self-delusion about Legolas. Perhaps he will not be able to escape into self serving motivations/justifications when confronted with the Valar who must surely know how false Thranduil has been. May the Valar extend their Grace to Legolas one day.

I hope you will return to this story, I'm enthralled!

    ......................*faints*
You gave us the best chapter of all your whole fic so far!Imladris and Mirkwood, the sharp contrast between the third and the forth aggolagolas'own discording feelings, all seem to take me to the concept of the begin and the end.
But there's no eightight now,for Legolas decides to ride again, maybe to give us the link from the past and the future;I guess what happened between Glorfindel and Legolas so many years ago.And I'm too intrigued by this thought:''He had given his word in exchange for another's life'' maybe Glorfindels??Oh,I'm too curious!!!
I felt in awe when I read about Imladris, the dinner hall, the gardens and its beautiful dawn-the things you wrote are so ethereal, they shines into an aura of mist:I told you once you have talent at writing,I would not love to see it forgotten!

    Cheers,
    Your loyal,faithfull,adoring servant Drea
