I'm usually not a big fun of tragic, hurt and comfort type stories, but this one is so sad and grim and... I think I'm hooked.
So hooked that I'm not going to stop reading this until the very end ( the happy ending that is).
However, when you're reading the story, Legolas' torment seems to get bit too much for my taste that I have to ask why?
maybe that's the point of this whole H/C story plot....hmmm
Am I the only one who's not really looking forward to reading the happy time of Legolas in Imladris, because we already know what happens to him afterwards. It is just so sad... and Legals dose not deserve this at all. Hopefully, we'll find out just what started this whole situation. I'm still not clear about why Legolas' mother left. And no matter what reasons Thran has has, it is insane to abuse your child as he dose. He's comitted the most offensive sin, and for that I don't think he should be allowed to pass to the west.... what do you think? I know it's AU and all, but I just can't help myself... he is so evil...
And just what is he going tell his "wife" when he is reunited with her ? " oh, by the way remember that baby you left behind? Don't worry, I abused the heck out of him and he is not ever coming to Valinor." or is he just going to lie through his teeth and live forever?
I'm sorry I'm getting worked up here... Blame the most evil Thranduil !! I ever read in a fanfiction.
Thank you, though I complained a lot, for sharing your story. I suspect it's going to be a long way coming, but I look forward to the happy ending of this story. One request!! please don't use LOVE for the simple instant cure of everything! Don't get me wrong because Legolas needs one, a lot of it ,but he also has a lot of probland and if there is to be a true happy ending, it is only natural that it's going take a long long time and efforts. And Thranduil should Pay !!! for what he's done!!!!

    Thanks again!!

Well, you told me to nitpick away, so I will!

This chapter (entry 12, chapter 3) is *sigh* once again uneven in the sense that there are a lot of little "construction" type mistakes - errors left from cut-and-paste editing, at least some of them. So perhaps you need a beta reader to find these (sometimes we are too close to the things that we write and can't see things right under our noses). Otherwise, you should make the habit of setting the chapter aside for a while after you have written it (I think of it as letting the chapter "ripen"), and then go back and comb through it and pick out all the nits yourself. *g*

It looks bad, very bad for Legolas (I am rather scratching my head wondering how in Arda he was able to fight *at all* with a broken leg and a broken arm, Elvish healing notwithstanding). I have to confess that I have to wonder if what Elrond foresaw was not Legolas' capture by the orcs, but rather his far distant future *shudders*. But then, you would think he would somehow try to avert or allieviate this.

As for the orcs, it seems that they have their usual evil intentions - but I thought that it was rather nice the way you coyly alluded to their plans for rape (assuming I didn't misconstrue that). Just one problem though - it seems that somehow Legolas has got his hands on a sword, and *that* I don't figure, at all!

I just reviewed and hit the wrong button and lost it all. I hope I can remember what I just wrote. It has been that kind of a day.
I liked your descriptions of the woods and the area that Legolas could see and feel. Lovely imagery.
I am so glad that he is safe and with some nice, caring, giving elves now. Although he seemed to have a few who didn't hate him wholeheartedly. can can have a nice life for awhile but he seems to be the kind of person that if he isn't being punished he is fretting about it. What is his problem? Well besides having such a lousy family.
He is really learning the differences between the two elven cultures isn't he? Elrond and Glorfindel being able to just sit and enjoy themselves singing and talking to their warriors. Something that doesn't seem to happen in Mirkwood.
I was interested to read about Elrond's concern for Glorfindel and any feelings he might have for the lost prince. Since we know what happens to Legolas after the Quest we know that Elrond's concerns were very well founded.
Well onto Imladris and a century of kindness and care for the prince. He of course will fret over not being treated like a dog but at least he will have fond memories for the future. A really lousy future so far. giggle

If Chapter 11 was "unpolished"... *shakes head* it certainly is beyond my nitpicking ability to see. You seem to have worked out the little problems that occasionally cropped up in earlier chapters.

I liked the silent acknowledgement/tribute from Silende and the few other Elves that sympathized with Legolas. At least Legolas had the chance to realize that he wasn't uniformly loathed.

Of course U can write a sad ending,it would be ok to me as long as U write a happy one too!*giggles* Oh,don't worry about stupid me,just write what U feel like:words, your ART,are yours and my opinion is nothing compared to your feelings.Though a sad ending will make me very, yesh, sad:heheee, that's my truble,I'm too sensible about certain things...^_^' Then, grrrrrrrrr, there's your bad-version of Thranduil:how I would like to take revenge on him,*hits Thrandy on his head*.Talking about Legolas'future after the Wood-elves'sailing,I think he should find a new companion, maybe some nice Mirkwood guard that decided to stay with him forever...that would be very nice!Heheeee!!
    Cheers,youre Drea!

Well poor Legolas is still ambivalent about life/death here. I am glad he accepts that he has a destiny to look forward too. That might keep him from totally giving up. I am sure he will have fun once he gets into someone's loving arms.
I am glad you are a happy ending person. I get very angsty when I read tales that don't even let him go on the Quest. They kill him off first.
Now off to Imladris and some nice loving nights. giggle

So Legolas made a promise to stay in Middle Earth for someone's life. This is intriguing.
You are really making us wait for all the answers aren't you. I like your writing style and I look forward to more. giggle

argh! If the Valar do not send Glorfindel back to fetch Legolas soon.... Perhaps when Thranduil shows up without his youngest son and the truths are torn from him and see the light of day, perhaps some of these horrendous wrongs will be righted.... perhaps....

Ah well.... I will sit back and watch.... and hope...
