AAAAARRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!And here I thought that Glorfindel was going to give Legolas to that other elf for pleasure.I guess I'm glad that he wants Legolas to be able to wield a sword and shoot with a bow so he can defend himself and his son in case Glorfindel is not there.For good measure,I want to read that sequel because I want to know on how Glorfindel's son will be raised.Is he going to be like his sire,on how he treats his "property?"I can't imagine Gilron(spelt right?)growing up treating other elves(Noldor or Sindar for that matter)like his sire has treated Legolas.I guess we'll have to find out as soon as the sequel is written.You did great Esteliel.There,I said it.

Ah, so now some small chance for honor and personal growth for Legolas!! (And *soooo* relieved that Legolas would have fought for himself!!! YAYYYYYYY!!!!!)

Very unexpected, good ending!

But NOW, you do realize that the prequel/backstory is going to have to completely go into the dysfunctional dynamics of Thranduil's household.... WHY was Legolas sent away? WHY wasn't he trained as a warrior? Plot, we want plot!!! (And, of course, all those inner thoughts and emotions and, yes, the turmoil of what is going to happen to Legolas....)

Waiting for the new stories!!

Yeah, well *mumble, mumble* it's been obvious for a long time now that it's been a slave mind-control Stockholm Syndrome type of story... I guess we are going to have to wait, what, 2 sequels, now? -- to see the supposed "happy ending". Which I will have to see to believe.... No, make that, you have really got your work cut out for you, to make me gut-feel.... that it will be happy and healthy for Legolas. Because right now, I sure ain't seeing it that way.

Anyhow, Esteliel, if this next chapter is going to be the last (of 'Anestel', not the entire story), can you please get on with it? (Yeah, yeah, I know, I had emailed you about ignoring our whining and nagging....) But... the suspense is KILLING me! What's that elf there for? For "play"... or (as some suggest) for ave cve collar? Don't know which is worse.... but whatever it is, it's bound to be bad. Ai, Legolas!

Confused :

Well... this being LotR fanfiction, I thought it was quite obvious that this is not a BDSM manual. If I wanted information about the lifestyle, I'd go to erenerent pages...

I've said it so often already, but once more: In Real Life, I would not qualify this as a safe relationship.
But this is not Real Life, this is fanfiction. A fantasy. In my opinion: the ultimate dream of any sub. A goodlooking, strong, dominant and somewhat arrogant top who forces you into submission without giving you any choice in the matter. Someone who forces plre ore on you and takes your choice away, so that you do not need to fear or worry or run away from your own desires.

This is of course complicated in Real Life, there have to be rules so that nobody get's hurt (or gets hurt more than they want ;). But do you fantasize about rules? Well, at least I don't.

I think you see this from a wrong point of view (or at least from a different one than I do *g*). Not because this is fanfiction... I've read excellent portrayels of BDSM lifestyle in fanfiction. But with this story I do not want to portray the lifestyle. All I want is to write down a particularly longlived LotR D/s master/slave fantasy I had.

I think that the master/slave concept is totally hot... as a fantasy. Or also as a consentual lifestyle, with several rules to ensure emotional health. Real slavery which still happens in far too many countries on this earth is NOT hot, neither is an abusive relationship.

And I also think that those who read this (and technically, you know, nobody under 18 would dare to read this because of its NC-17 warning ;) are mature enough to realize that this is a fantasy, something we might dream about but which would never take place in Real Life. I at least would never look to a LotR fic for information on my sexuality. *g*

Finally let me say one last thing: I've never ever classified this story as BDSM. Exactly because I wanted to avoid that connection with the BDSM community which you made. I've classified it as D/s, which it is... dominance/submission. Forced, but that category still applies. And I do not call this a tale of rape and abuse, because - as this is my fantasy - it will have a nice happy end with Glorfindel and Legolas having a sane and healthy D/s relationship.

I knew nothing about 'BDSM' before accidentally coming across this story at ff.net. I could tell you what the words meant, but nothing else. So, I went to several websites that offer FAQ's and definitions of terms used in the particular lifestyle. I am commenting because of the reviews that are indicating you have a real handle on the d/s relationship between Glorfindel and Legolas. I am not in a position of personal knowledge to disagree with these reviewers, nor do I know anyone who participates in such activities.

That said, everything I read about dominant/submissive relationships and masochism/sadism are not what you are showing. Legolas, first of all, is underage. Second, he was initially non-consensual in the sex and several times thereafter. Third, there is no safe word or caring for what Legolas as the submissive wants or can handle. Glorfindel does not stop when Legolas asks him to, and this is supposed to be the key (allegedly) to a d/s relationship. As far as the m/s part of sto story - there is no differentiation between 'punishment' and masochism/sadism. Legolas fears the pain and does not want it. He is not a willing partner in that kind of relationship even if itusesuses him. Again, there is no safe word or trust - Glorfindel does not stop when Legolas asks (pleads, begs?) him to. And there is no public humiliation in BDSM (all about trust, right?) nor is there any trust in this relationship if Glorfindel 'shares' Legolas with another who he does not wish to engage in relations with. That is called pimping.

So, my point? This is a story of rape, abuse and borderline torture. This is a very interesting story from a psychological viewpoint - Legolas is suffering from Stockholm syndrome - he has developed some sympathy and love for his captor. He is the Patty Hearst of the elven world. Comparing him to the breaking of a colt is actually apt - because for Legolas to like this or think it is normal certainly means that his spirit has been broken and it will take many long years, if indeed ever it could happen, for him to be the elf he was meant to be. A colt is also a possession, and Legolas is certainly that. A breeding slave. As attracted as Legolas may be to Glorfindel, most is accounted to the fact that he could be in far worse hands with others. As the abused wife or child says - he only hits me some of the time. Other than that he is a good husband/father. We arrest people for that.

The story is interesting in the same way a train wreck makes you slow down and look - and it certainly makes the reader experience strong emotions. But I strongly suspect you have young and impressionable readers, and they should in no way be led to believe that this is in anyway a normal relationship. You say hey, this is fanfiction, I can write what I want? I agr But But this story is not indicative of normal natural loving relationships - and since the BDSM community believes that they exist in relationships of respect and trust, I doubt they would agree this is that either. Call this a dark tale of rape, abuse, mpreg and a young elf doing what he has to to survive in a cruel world. It is still just as interesting, and calls it what it is.

@Elflover I'm glad it invoked such an emotional response. :) And I admit... it was a very evil cliffhanger. But there's just one more part left to this story, and I promise it it won't end with a cliffhanger. *g*

@Aelin-uial Mhhhh... *purrs* I'd like to see a pierced Legolas! And the Glorfindel-Muse inside my head has been constantly nagging me to write something like that... so yes, most probably that is going to happen somewhere in the future. *eg* And yes, there'll be a prequel, and one or two sequels as well. Sometimes I think there are too many ideas in my head...

@Tari Well... *laughs* I'm not really in the lifestyle. I'm curious, though, and have read a lot... Glorfindel is basically just a fantasy of my dream-top. I'm really glad that it is convincing!! :)

I love this story. I also love the way that you have grasped the D/s relationship. Are you in the lifestyle because you have it down. The way legoles has internalized the need to be punished, if you are vanilla, no one would ever know it. Keep writng, your smashing!
