@Elflover Well, I do not think that Glorfindel can simply punish an Imladris elf as he sees fit -- surely in such a community there must be rules, and I think that if Glorfl wal wanted those two punished, it would have to be through harder work or something along those lines, not by corporeal punishment.
And ultimately, Glorfindel has some plans for Legolas (which I won't yet tell ;)), so yeah, he wants people to be aware that Legolas is a prince, although he belongs to him.

Also, Glorel wel would never use the word 'slave' as an official term, he would probably call him a prisoner of war... Nevertheless, Legolas is treated like a slave, so it is no wonder that other elves wuold use it as an insult. Nobody would officially call it that way since there is no slavery among elves, of course, but with the hate and conflicts between the elven realms, none of the Noldor would try to make Glorfindel stop. ;)

As to Ophirianne's story: Yes, I liked it very, very much. *g* Although in my story, no, Haldir and Elladan had not succeeded in breaking him and he would have fought against Glndelndel (mainly because I need him unbroken for a later story *g*).
Still, I think that Haldir and Elladan would have been able to break him, so under that premise, her story makes perfect sense. :)

(Oh yeah... and the robe problem is now corrected *laughs* ks fks for pointing it out, and thank you even more for your continuous feedback!! :))

    Forgot to mention this...

Ophirianne -- while I do not agree with the premise in your Anestel story (that Celeirdur would have so readily broken), I did think that it was nicely written. I especially liked the Legolas POV. And the ending was especially well done.

Oops.... it was in Ophirianne's story where Glorfindel openly called Legolas his slave. Oops...

Still, Glorfindel didn't dispute the status, when Legolas told him their comments (that he would believe Noldor as opposed to a Sindar slave).

    Mixed emotions on this....

So sad for Legolas....as he begins to comprehend the degree of mind control that Glorfindel has won over him.

Incredulous that Glorfindel let those off off with only a warning... wishing that Hirion, at least, had gotten pounded into the dust. (Like others, I suspect that we are not yet done with trouble from that source. Hint, hint.) I had thought that Glorfindel would have gone berserk, especially since his son was vulnerable in that situation. Hmmm... the mighty Glorfindel, restrained from dealing damage -- why?? By the laws of Imladris??

Wonder at Glorfindel's words to them... reminding them that Legolas is a prince, and telling them that he is barely tamed (this last doesn't seem quite true!). What's this -- just a rationalization as to why he believes Legolas, and not them?? Or is he pumping up Legolas' self-esteem?? Is this a caution to them to respect his slave (for the slave's capabilities, as opposed to the fact that he is Glorfindel's)?? What on Arda??

Some smattering of true concern for Legolas?? And not just because he is Glorfindel's property??

And speaking of slavery/property -- well, there we have it folks, baldly stated what Legolas' legal status is. (And since when is slavery legal in Imladris??)

    Sigh... questions, more questions!

Esteliel -- thanks for putting up the link to your homepage. Since you like it, wondering if you totally agree with Ophirianne's story (that Celeirdur would indeed have so precipitously broken... as he sure seemed (to me) to still have it together the night before). Just curious what your take on this is. (Random thoughts.... Wish someone had written a PWP regarding Celeirdur with Haldir and Elladan. *slaps self* Hoping to see more of Celeirdur when you eventually get around to the Mirkwood story.)

Also, since Legolas is now back in his robe, don't forget that there is some revision of past chapters in order!

And yes, I'll be hanging in there until the end, too. (Questioning and/or criticizing every bit of it, lol...)

Oh, it might be more than just 2 or 3 chapters... it might very well be 5 or so. It just feels to me like I should be able to wrap it up with 3, but then, my chapters tend to grow longer than I planned -- I'm not trying to finish this as fast as possible, but I need to see the end in front of me, at least of this particular story arc.
And I don't think I'll write the Elrohir-in-Mirkwood story just yet... I wanted to, but my Glorfindel-Muse is louder than the Mirkwood-Muse. I might write the ficlet about how Glorfindel and Legolas first met in Mirkwood, though, but that won't be very long. :)

About 3 more chapters huh?Are you going to put at least on how Glorfindel will raise his son?I mean,I don't want Legolas to be treated as such while their son is growing up in Rivendell. Will the son be like his sire? What about the treaty?

Come to think of it, you have an awful lot to tie up in *this* remaining story....

The two stablehands, and the general attitude of the Imladris Elves towards Legolas,

Whatever secret Legolas is trying to hide from Glorfindel,

That punishment that Glorfindel has been hanging over Legolas head....

I don't see how you're going to tie all that up gracefully in two or three short chapters. And, having teased your readers with all this, I think that you kind of owe it to us to address the issues in a sufficiently detailed fashion (please, unlike the handling of the treaty....) Attending to and neatly resolving/tying up all the background and plot details enriches the story. Trying to just brush on by with a few sentences... it's unsatisfying.

Esteliel -- no updates today? *sobs!* Really, you just keep torturing us!

For all my complaints, I almost fear coming to the end of "Anestel" so quickly -- I am concerned that it will be too abrupt, without any resolution. (Yes, I do understand that you want to achieve some sort of logical break before proceeding to the next step/stage.) I am also concerned as to which of several stories you are going to pick up next -- if you wander off on a side story, or the Elrohir-in-Mirkwood story, that will be the equivalent of a *very long* cliffhanger to those of us addicted to this storyline -- I don't think we'd be able to stand the suspense, before getting back to Legolas' story! *whimpers*
