The story is not there. Only a brief author's note.

What can I say, all 36 chapters read in an afternoon! Great take on the relationships and fine politics...I look forward to more

Keep the story going. It's one of the few where you can actually imagine, that Tolkien himself could have written them, exept for the slash part...

Perfectly pitched! I love your characterization of Glorfindel and Maeglin is wonderfully shady! My only complaint is that you update more often and with longer chapters. Please???

Fair enough, but from what I've read, elven horses are immortal like their masters, and besides there are some elves that befriend humans and they (we) have short life spans too. But anyway, because of horses having short life spans, I would think that an elf would respect that, and let the animal live for as long as it possibly can to enjoy the short life it has to live. Besides, and forgive me if this sounds offensive, slaughtering an animal for ones own self-benafit is not only cruel, but barbaric as well. Unless the animal was already dead. Look at the way Legolas and Arod bonded, and Glorfindel and Asfaloth, or Aragorn and Brego (though technically Aragorn wasn't an elf, he was raised with them and learnt their ways, which is how he managed to get the horse to take to him) But personally, I don't see how anyone could eat horse meat, that's just not right. But anyway, you're right, it is your stoI juI just had to put my two sence in. LOL, I know this seems like a pretty pointless rant, and I have to be really bored right now to... not argue, but have a difference of opinion. So, I'm just going to shut up now and stop annoying you with my irrelevant rambling. Thanks for listening, lol!

    Darling Anon -

I think they would. Any sane captain would sacrafice a few horses to feed a partly injured army that would need the red meat to recover enough for a march home. Besides, who's going to hunt after retreating from a battle? Not many.

And I'm of the opinion that the FANON belief about elves befriending thier horses is highly inaccurate. It would be a very foolish thing to develop more than a relationship of trust and mastery with an animal that would easily die in about thirty years and need to be replaced. If an elf were to be close with his beast, all an enemy would have to do is kill the animal and the elf would be too busy weeping like a pansy to defend himself.

Elf and horse friendships are a fanon belief. This story follows canon as closely as possible.

Furthermore, it's my story. If you want to write such a long and difficult story wherein details like elves and horses are dear, loving friends, then feel free.

I won't be doing so. Hope you don't mind.

Um... I don't think an elf would ever eat horse meat. Horses are their friends, creatures that they can talk to, and I think it would be against their nature to slaughter a friend merely for their own benafit. Anyway, wonderful chapter, I can't wait for part three.

I'm really enjoying your story so far. I love stories w/ Glorfindel, and I loved the beginning especially where you wrote about how he lived alone for the longest time.... Great writing, keep up the good work.

    Ah, how the tale thickens...

I love your presentation of Maeglin... how twisted he is! Poor Glorfindel...! Argh, you just want to slap Turgon silly until he listens...alas! I loved Huor...very entertaining.

Sorry, I haven't been here for a long while otherwise I would've been reviwing like mad! *hugs* But, at least I was greeted with many chapters to catch up on... I eargerly await more!
