Wonderful story! I never thought of a Fingolfin/Ecthelion pairing but they work well together. Ecthelion is a very loyal elf and I could imagine he'd stay by Fingolfin's side through all the toils and troubles for Fingolfin in the days to come. I would love to see a continuation of this story through the First Age when the Noldor go to the Hither Lands.

I've been meaning to read this story over at SWG ever since you posted it in the community, but real life meddled an kept me busy. Which is too bad, because I've missed an excellent story and a chance to see things from Fingolfin's perspective. Being completely devoted to Feanor, I never gave his brother's feelings much thought, but I have always admired Fingolfin for how much he tried to heal the rift within his family. He must have endured much disappointment, always being second best (including when I came to the number of children he sired!). I cannot side with him, but I can't help imagining what things would have been like if Feanor had been less proud, less harsh and less quick to dismiss an Elf who would have understood and loved him greatly.

It's a good thing Fingolfin was not utterly alone. Having Ecthelion by his side must have made all the difference. They are wonderful together and you've written an amazing love scene, so passionate and tender. Great stuff!
