How sad!! I don't like it when people die, but its a good way to bring Legolas and the twins closer together. Poor Ithilwin(sp?). I hope they will all be joined together and happy by the end. ^_^

    Part VII of 5
Does Valinor have winter? Despite Glorfindel's perpetual spring and summer they must have. At least somewhere when it is snowint for the elves who need it or it wouldn't be Valinor. I liked Nana not being overly impresssed withthe king and that is why he fell in love with her. Yes Elladan romance is in the eyes of the beholder. Smirk.
Well it was nice to read all about Legolas healing. So much of elves is in their spirit/fea. If they can die from grief then their spirit has to be well cared for. After he had deeply grieved his Nana his bouts of rage finally subsided. Good.
And he felt blessed to have won such kinship with the twins. He wants to go home to his family but he now has family in Imladris. Actually his two "brothers" are probably easier to deal with than his blood brothers at home. Although I like Nim as much as I like Arwen.
Sidenote - When Elrond talked about his twin brother Elros and then said he didn't know how he would cope with losing one of his children to the gift of men. A big ouch on that one.

He wakes as part of an elf sandwich with a side of Arwen. Elrohir holds Legolas in his arms. Sigh. They made him feel secure by surrounding him. Nice. He was all cleaned up and drugged. Well that would work for me. Anytime.
Now it is time to grieve in order to honor his Nana. Elrohir as always says all the right things. You bring your Nana's spirit no peace. Good point. I would bear your sorrow and pain so with much empathy in Elrohir's eyes that does the trick for Legolas and he cracks. I thought it was very fitting that Elrohir was the onebe tbe there when Legolas awoke.
Now Elladan's worries for his berother. It all boils down to will he help his twin forget his love for Legolas or help him win the prince. Whichever his twin needs. Right answer.
Nice scene with all the explanations then allowing and helping the prince vent some more. This is still going to take time. giggle

Uh oh Bad dream and Elrohir is going to pay the price. Well everyone got in on this little fracas didn't they? Never mess with someone who is sleep walking.
How did I get back here? So he was still in battle with the baddie and Elrohir became the baddie for Legolas.
Of course Legolas wants to leave. He could kill someone. He almost killed Elrohir. This is the secret that Legolas can't bring himself to live with. It isn't good to keep this hidden. It takes a lot of energy to hold all this in. He needs to let it all out, elf or not.
Legolas couldn't even look at Elrohir but El understands now he feels and won't let Legolas blame himself.
I thought it was so sweet of them all to want to stay with Legolas even though he is a walking time bomb. They need to save this elf from himself. giggle

    Part IV of 5
Oh Oh brigands from the East with booty from as far as Dale, but Legolas promised Elrohir to stay put. This doesn't bode well for their friendship does it. He promised! Don't you trust me. I don't.
Nice touch with Earendil and the twins. I do wonder an an effect this star would really have on the twins and Elrond. After all Elrond had neither father or mother, just this star up in the sky. I have always felt life dealt a really rough hand to Elrond Peredhil.
It is November, no wonder it is not their usual time to go after baddies. There is snow on the mountains and most of the passes already.
Ah Ellladan is thinking again. Even Elrohir hasn't breached Legolas' well-entrenched defences even though they are bobuddbuddies. The only one to notice this "thing" Elrohir and Legolas have between them is Elladan. I can see that because of lin link between twins. No matter what kind of a link it is it is definitely there.
Then along comes Helmir. Nice little warrior moment there. Elladan at least is going to get some but not right now. Duty calls. They have to go get the baddies.
And here comes....Legolas. Elrohir is going to be so t'ed off at his Calenlass. I did kind of figure this would happen though. He's hoping to find his mother's killers. Oh ick. A carcass fir only for the butchers block and total raging madness by the prince. Well good. He got the killer and made dog food of him but it hasn't helped any with his inner loathing has it?
Elladan says "Tis enough." It will never be enough. Let him make compost of the guy if it makes him feel better. He's already dead after all. Legolas needs to do this to make him feel less like a failure. He needs to get these feelings out of his system. After he reduces the baddie to hamburger he needs to bawl his head off that it is over and this is as good as it is going to get. It won't bring Nana back by any means.
"Have pity on us." Here goes that elven walking two inches above the ground thing they have going. Get down and dirty and let it all hang out is a human thing after all.
Legolas has time to think now and has a lot of thinking to do. Facing Elrond bothers him but oh my we have someone even more upset then the Lord. Elrohir!! OOPS All the elves make themselves scarce. mov move on their part cause here comes a big emotional moment between two friends.
At least and at last Elrohir forgives Legolas for breaking his promise. I wonder what would have happened if Legolas had asked Elrohir to go with him. Had shared his reasonings and desires. Would Elrohir have gone with him to keep him safe? Tried to talk him out of it? Told Adar so that Legolas could have been stopped? Venternteresting to think about might have beens. Legolas obviously needed to go to get this out of his system.
At least Elladan and Helmir got some down time to get over the adrenaline from the battle. Oh my gracious. Go them. giggle

The Shadow coming to the Greenwood and now men call it Mirkwood. Evil of an unknown origin. OOH Cue scary music here.
Wow the wood elves strung the men who killed their Queen from trees as a warning to other bad men. You know the outcome of this would be that men are shortlived and would forget the original cause keeping alive only rumor. This would eventually separate elves and men even more. While the elves would never forget and have a chip on their eternal shoulders. Sigh.
Even Melthoron is a likable character to the twins in his grief. That probably won't last long but it is a nice change.
So the wood elves are beginning to gossip about Legolas going mad from grief. I don't know why we love too torture the prince but we sure do.
Nice discussion between Thranduil and the Imladris family. And here we halrohlrohir understanding the prince's motives again. I thought what Celebrian did was so sweet. She sees that the king is in terrible shape. He has the grief of losing his wife and the fear of losing his youngest son. Trying to run a realm while trying not to fade himself.
It was so poignant to see Legolas spurn all other help but when the twins went to him ccepccepted them. He is in really bad shape. He will go to Imladris but with no joy. I can see how he wouldn't really be able to enjoy much in life right now. As excited as a sloth. That was good.
I am glad he had a little hissy fit. It shows that he has some feelings in there. If he doesn't he will fade. Anger, even inner directed anger, can be a sign that there is hope if it can be re-directed outward. It is very hard to know the right words to make someone feel better. Actually there are no right words.
You have me - from Elrohir and Elladan gets a funny feeling about what is really going on. giggle

I am so glad I am going over this again. I am picking up a lot of little things that I missed before.

    Part I of 5
Poor Legolas' mother is always getting killed or fading. Spiders, orcs or bad men are always destroying the family, happy or not. Sigh. Why do we want to torture the poor elf so much? I have no idea but I love every moment of it. Guilty grin here.
Elronir's intuitiveness as far as Legolas goes. Even his family is beginning to notice this now not just Elladan. Of course they don't see beyond just friendship yet. Well neither does Elrohir but Elladan is beginning to catch on. Of course Legolas blames himself, more angst that way. They hao wao wait and clean up the area around Imladris for safe passage. This way Legolas will be in really bad shape when they get there. Hurry and get the passes cleared so that Elrohir can go rescue Legolas. giggle

No kidding "Sorrow" I think I cried at some point during each of the seven sections. You write such emotion, I would not be surprised if you yourself cried during the writing of this section. It is beautifully done, though I could not surpress a wry laugh at Ed sad saying he could not bear it if one of his children took a mortal lover. That comment helped lighten heavyd ofd of this section. Truly, you writing is more like a tapestry then at story; everything is so woven together that even humour in the midst of tragedy does not seem out of place.

I can just imagine winter in Imladris! This was a nice way to end this part of the story. I canwaitwait for more! It was good to see Legolas morn and start to heal. I'm guessing it's going to come in handy when you get to the attack on Celebrian.
Looking forward to the next part!

It is so achingly frustrating to have to stop reading this when I've read what's posted. I just want to keep going and going and not have to wait for more updates. But I've been impressed with how fast you are putting this up. Thank you! You have me totally hooked on this story. I feel so sorry for Legolas and what he's going through. You've really pulled me in. Wonderful writing!
