Reviews for Mael-Gul

So, the truth is going to come out. This ought to be good. (Well, actually, bad.) Gimli has been so disagreeable that one can imagine him crowing over Legolas' status. And one has to wonder just how Boromir is going to react. Will he be angry at having been dissed at the council by a *slave*? Will he demand some sort of recompense for same? And how on earth are the hobbits going to take all this?

It's going to be entertaining to see how little Aragorn can get away with explaining. The fact of slavery is bad enough, but having to explain the whole shameful business about the Mael-Gul, and why he was beating Legolas (because he can't get it up otherwise)... That ought to provide some fodder for Boromir to making biting comments on.

    Poor Legolas, though.

Phew! I think our Ranger might be getting a tad frustrated, influence of the Ring or no!
And I'm sure he'll think of something. He'd better think of something! And fast. Eagerly awaiting more!

That was such a *nice* little interlude, in the beginning of the chapter - where Legolas is well and (to the extent that he can be, under the circumstances) joyful again.

Too bad that the demands of the spell had to ruin it all.

Trouble is obviously brewing - I can see both Gimli and Boromir lurking in the bushes the next time around. It should be entertaining to see how Aragorn is going to explain things.

    Ooh! Another tasty chapter!
And we are seeing a more tender side of Aragorn. I like that. Still, what is Boromir going to think of it all? Moreso, what of Gimli? Could be an ugly ugly scene!
I was thinking about this story this weekend, just mulling it over in my head, and I think what I like best about it is that even though you've clearly created this alternate reality Aragorn and Legolas, you've kept their voices and mannerisms perfect. The reader loses none of the images of them that we hold in our heads.

    ^_^ *spaz* @_@
Erm, just wanted to say... I like Boromir, but are you going to make him evil? Or maybe he'll beat the crap out of Aragorn and then he and Legolas run away to fantasy-land and have little half-elf babies... *stares* ...Anyway! Keep it up ^_^v

Lothlorien will be a problem, by the way where are Legolas's brothers?

    :D
I'm back! Somehow I got a chapter behind again! How does that happen, I wonder?

I do so looooooooove this story. I like how you're developing Legolas and Aragorns relationship; the changes we're seeing wrought in Aragorn are beautifully done! And the influence of that evil evil Ring... we shall see where that leads, won't we?
Straight to Lothlorien and a few Galadhrim by chance?

This is definately going on my favorites list. I just loved the interaction with Boromir, and how the hobbits are more astute than Legolas realizes. I'm also glad Aragorn is giving Legolas another day to heal himself... but will he be able to do it? I can't wait for the next update!!

Maddening how Legolas perceived his doubts and so on re Aragorn as Ring-induced. I'd say that he had it pretty straight.

Nice job of side-stepping around Boromir's queries on his part. Boromir has totally the wrong picture (re the foes), but I'm not so sure that he's that far off wrt what was done to Legolas. The sexual slavery and torture is more worthy of orcs than of Elves.

So now everyone in the Fellowship is aware that Legolas is injured. I'm wondering just how long they can hide the *nature* of the injuries. If Boromir or Gimli get a glimpse, they are certain to recognize the injuries for what they are - and won't *that* bring up interesting questions! (Heck, even the innocent hobbits probably would.) Though possibly Boromir would assume them to be from the foes whose hands Legolas fell into, and has nightmares about. He definitely would not be wrong about that.

I rememeber the friendship from the books. Gimli may be ready to deal with a certain elf lord with his ax

I've been reading along with mixed feelings about this story. The characterization for Aragorn and Legolas is excellent. I would not have thought that a "sadistic" Aragorn could also otherwise seem in character, but somehow you have managed to do it. Similarly the portrayal of the woodland Prince resigned to his (how many years-long?) slavery has been well done. We can still see flashes of the warrior prince in there; though his body may be enslaved, his mind, at least, is still his own.

The Imladris elves - though. *shakes head* Elrond is so OOC as to be unbelievable (corrupted by Vilya or not) and Erestor is just plain loathsome. The twins are - mad. The idea that Vilya corrupted Elrond is interesting, but I would have liked an explanation as to how/why everyone else, especially Glorfindel (who, as one reader put it, seems to be the only sane Elf in Imladris), is going along with it. And if Vilya is the problem, then in a similar vein, one would expect the wearers of Narya and Nenya to also be corrupted. Gandalf seems to still have it together, but we have yet to see Galadriel.

The rape scene, from an action viewpoint, was well done - too often non-con is written in a totally unbelievable manner. But Legolas' angst was just a tad diminished by the utter abundance of authorial utterances on utter horror and utter despair - if you catch my meaning.

I am looking forward (sort of) to seeing how Boromir/Legolas and Gimli/Legolas creeps in here. Gimli, frankly, is not at all pleasant here. I can't say that I would welcome a Gimli-rapes-Legolas scenario.

Oh! Very interesting! Loved the nightmare, especially how it showed how the curse was placed and it's immediate effects. Wonderfully horrible!
And I'm glad Aragorn has let up on him a bit. Although now I'm really curious about the others, and what will happen if they find out... particularly the dwarf!
    Eagerly awaiting the next chapter!!!
