oh! it had such a perfect ending! through out it i felt so bad for legolas and such contempt for aragorn. but it ended so beautifully!... okay, i'm still kinda holding contempt for aragorn, but i love that legolas and boromir are friends now, and it worked out well to. it isn't an uncomfortable friendship and it seems so wonderfully made, great job!
i'm sure i'll be checking up on your work again. *applauds* brava brava.

Hi, Larrkin! I actually remember reading the first chapter of this when you first posted it. Didn't I review? Shame on me!
I liked the first chapter quite a bit. I was surprised at how well you dissected Aragorn's motivations, and uncovered his relationship with Boromir. (The stopping and going back to comfort the child was priceless.) Honestly, I think if you hadn't spent so much time with the intricacies, exploring how Aragorn views his responsibilities I probably would not have continued reading. It made it fully believable to me.

I had more trouble with the second chapter. You claim that Aragorn and Legolas are life-mates, yet Aragorn clearly treats Legolas as subordinate to him, as less than an equal. I didn't like Legolas falling all over himself to apologize to Aragorn for thinking the worst. It was Aragorn's poor communications that led to Legolas' jealousy, and I don't think he should have to apologize for that. I thought it was co-dependent of him, of best, and I would consider Elves to be wiser than that.
I did LOVE the Merry/Pippin scene! I was snickering out loud the whole time!
