I enjoyed the intensity of the emotions you described, and it reminded me of my own youthful longings. But! Am I supposed to know who the blond, cobalt-eyed lover is? Are you trying to tell us it's Glorfindel? I need more obvious over-the-head type bludgeoning, if so.

Oooh! What a surprise ending. And Glori never even knew. Or perhaps he did, and simply did what was best.
Still, I think it would be interesting for the story to come out now, 400 years later and hear what Glorfindel's reaction would be.
