Very good. Dark and yet not. Beregond's reactions, mental and otherwise were very well done.

I came over to read your story after a rec or two by friends--and am quite impressed! Non-con is hard to write, ditto rape, and I think you handled it beautifully. What I find most amazing about this story is the point of view character, Beregond being one of my favorites, and how amazingly seamlessly and well this could *fit* as a backstory, given the dark premise. Certainly Beregond's later defiance of Denethor's order to save Faramir makes sense in light of this. Well written, sensitively handled, especially the point of view. It rings v. true. It's aturbturbing story, but I think it's meant to be.

Shocking, but very well written--will be interesting to see how this evolves.
