CH 12
She walked around the corner and waited patiently for her mother to come out of the healing chambers.
Legolas rode fast in the night to get to where the battle was taking place. It seemed like hours getting there to the scene where all the action was happening. Legolas finally made it as he only stopped to let the horse rest for a moment and letting the animal drink a little water.
When he heard the battle roaring in the distance, he heard Haldir and Amras giving commands. He saw Elves, Orgs and Warg Riders lying dead on the ground. He jumped off his horse, said a few Elven words and the horse rode off into the woods. Legolas snuck around and tried to go unnoticed.
Legolas approached as he saw Haldir in the trees and then arrows were coming out of all different directions. He jumped up in the tree and smiled at Haldir as he joined in on the fighting.
“When did you get here old friend?” Haldir asked with one eyebrow up and focusing on the Orgs below.
“No time to be asking questions, I am here now! Lets get this war over with my friend.” Legolas stated.
Haldir nodded at his friend and the two began to turn this war around as Legolas helped aid in the fighting. The arrows were everywhere and Orgs were going down. Legolas and Haldir jumped down like old time and began chopping the Orgs and Warg Riders up one by one. Then they heard the leader state that they were retreating back to their master.
Before they knew it the battle was over and the Elves were helping the wounded back on their feet. Legolas went over and assisted with the hurt Elves. He mixed up medicine for them to drink and started passing it out among the seriously hurt Elves. Haldir and Amras came over to ask Legolas if the Lady Arwen and Lady Larien made it back safely.
“Did you get Lady Arwen and Lady Larien back to Rivendell?” Asked the curious Haldir.
“Aye we did make it back, sadly Lady Larien was locked into a battle with a Warg Rider and was cut by the blade which was poisoned. Unfortunately, she fell ill, Arwen and I had to be quick to get her back to Lord Elrond.” Legolas’s thoughts were now on his lady.
“Nay this cannot be as I promised Lord Elrond that nothing would happen to his daughters. I hope he will be merciful with my mishap.” Amras spoke with discontent in his voice.
Haldir stated, “When you left her company was she well?” He was very worried for Lady Larien’s life, as he knew the Warg Rider’s poisoning was very potent.
“Aye, I do not know her out come yet, Haldir, she was rather sick when I lefr prr presents. Lord Elrond quickly started to heal her with some medicine that is suppose to reverse the affects of the poison.” Legolaswerswered his worried friend.
“By the Gods, I shall pray to the valor that she recovers quickly. I shalt not want anything to happen to Lady Larien of Rivendell.” Amras stated rather hopingly.
They all finished caring for the wounded and taking care of the ones that were less fortune with their lives. It had been a few days and Legolas was getting anxious to see the one that has stolen his heart. But he wondered if she had always had it as he remembered those flowers he left on her balcony when he came to Rivendell with his father.
Legolas decided it was time to get back to Rivendell and asked Haldir to accompany him back. Haldir agreed and the two were about to leave on their horses when Amras showed up at the last minute. Amras wanted to go back with them to see how Lady Arwen and Lady Larien were fairing. They agreed to take Amras along with them on their journey back.
Back in Rivendell, Lady Larien was recovering nicely as he father put it. The poison had almost completely left her blood stream and her arm had healed nicely as planned. She was almost well enough to go out to the gardens.
When Arwen had come in to bring her sister something to eat Larien had a plan. She asked, “Arwen could you please take me out into the gardenust ust for a moment and yould sld sneak me back in? I would be so ever in debt to you!” Larien wanted to get out of this room so bad and into the sunlight but her father said not today.
“Do you want me to get in trouble for letting you do this?” Arwen teased with a hint of aggravation. But she knew it was for the good of her soul that she let her go outside.
“Please, Arwen, I need to feel the wind on my face and the sunlight hitting my skin. I would do this for you, if the roles were reversed.” Larien had her hands together begging for her sister to take her outside.
Arwen’s eyebrow raised, “Alright, Larien, but we have to be quick about so mother does not see or father.” She agreed to take her sister outside as she requested.
Arwen picked her weightless body up, walked over to the door, set her down next to the chair by the door, opened the door and peeked out. The coast was clear, so Arwen picked her sister up once again in her arms and out they went into the gardens.
“Larien hope that you enjoy your time out here! If we get caught, father will not be happy and I may get punished for this.” Arwen stated knowing the consequences. She ducked because one of the maid servants were walking down the same hall she needed to go outside into the gardens.
The Maidservant had left and Arwen made it safely outside into the gardens and placed her sister down on the stone bench next to the Lilac bush that father and her had loved.
“Thank you, Arwen, I am forever in your debt for the trouble I caused you. If we get caught, I will tell father it was me that should get punished not you.” Larien stated as she smiled at her sister for the kind deed.
Larien loved sitting in the sunlight and the wind on her face. She closed her eyes and began to think about the kiss Legolas left on her lips almost like an everlasting imprint on her soul. But it was short lived when they heard voicing coming near gar gardens.
Arwen went over, picked her up and without a word ran as fast as she could back into the Palace. She opened the doors and standing right in front of her was there mother.
