Ch13

Legolas stood close to
Glorfindel as the two elves rode in. One dismounted, slowly approached lord
Elrond and bowed. Elrond smiled �Mea govannen, be welcome here, I am lord
Elrond� The elf stood and swept his hand from his heart �Mea govannen my lord,
I am prince Erintur Thranduilion�

The crown prince suddenly
turned his head when he heard someone lightly gasp. Erintur furrowed his brow,
and then dropped his jaw �Le�Legolas?�

Glorfindel stepped back to
expose more of the prince and Erintur slowly walked over and smiled �Valar,
you�ve grown so much! You are almost as tall as me! Come to me Legolas, saes,
let me hold you, would you allow me to hold you? I have missed you so much!�

Legolas furrowed his brow and
looked to Glorfindel �To fast, what want?�

Erintur frowned and looked at
Glorfindel as the seneschal turned to Legolas and whispered �Brother want hug,
miss you badly�

The crown prince then saw
Legolas turn and smile �Erintur not mad me?� Erintur shook his head as he
grabbed Legolas and held him close �Nay Legolas I'm not mad at you, he hurt you
grievously, no one blames you for what happened, why did you run, why did you
not just come to us�

Legolas sighed and nuzzled his
brother�s neck happily and whispered, �To fast, not understand�

Erintur backed up and held him
by the biceps �Legolas, wh�why are you talking like that�

Glorfindel walked close and
placed his hand on the crown princes shoulder �Prince Erintur, your brother was
alone this whole time, save the company of a few elder trees. He adopted their
speech over time, you are going to have to either slow your speaking
considerably, or speak elder tree with him�

Legolas narrowed his eyes and
lightly smacked Glorfindel in the chest �To much, to fast, I know you speak me,
what say!�

Erintur sighed heavily and
looked at Glorfindel �Adar speaks elder tree, but I am afraid I do not speak it
very well, I always get confused and misinterpret what is being said. This is
going to pose a problem�

Legolas then grabbed his
brother�s forearm and growled �I stand here, rude you speak me like not here!�

Erintur opened his mouth, then
closed it and furrowed his brow. Glorfindel smiled and pulled Legolas close
�You not understand brother, brother find hard understand you�calm down. Elrond
sending me to meet your Adar and escort� The seneschal then motioned for
Elladan to come over �Elladan help you speak brother and brother you�

As Glorfindel left, Elladan
walked up �Prince Erintur, I am Elladan Peredhil, I can help you speak with
your brother� The crown prince nodded �Mea govannen, I have heard of you, your
reputation as a warrior is well known, as is that of your twin�

Elladan inclined his head and
smiled �Hannon le, prince Legolas has come to trust me some during his stay
here, what would you like to say�

Erintur told him, and then
watched as Elladan smiled at his younger brother �Erintur love you, want hold
you tight and comfort you. Mirkwood angry at Thalos, not you, Mirkwood love and
miss you�

The crown prince then held out
his arms and smiled �Hug?� Legolas snorted and shook his head as he entered his
brother�s arms �You want hug a lot� Erintur laughed loudly �Nai, I missed you!�

Elrond smiled and slowly walked
close �Prince Erintur, how many will be arriving?� The crown prince felt
Legolas stiffen and tremble some, then pulled back �Legolas? What is wrong�

Elladan lightly grabbed his
fathers sleeve and pulled him back two steps. Elrond sighed �You must
understand Erintur, Legolas does not trust any healers, he is fearful, though
he has grown to trust Elladan some, he still fears me greatly and can not bare
to have me to close�

Not releasing Legolas, the
crown prince turned to Elladan �Well, lord Elrond I can understand him fearing,
he is a Master Healer, but why would Legolas fear you?�

Elladan looked at the younger
prince �Legolas, what me?� The prince took his face out of his brothers neck
and sighed �Healer� Elladan smiled and shook his head �Nay Legolas, what else
me?�

Legolas looked at his brother
�He crown prince warrior healer�but�but he good healer�

~*~*~

Glorfindel slowed Asfaloth when
he saw the Mirkwood party up ahead, he knew the kings Captain and waved his
hand in greeting when he came forth �Mea govannen lord Glorfindel, it has been
long� �Aye that it has Eldacar, tis good to see you. I fear though that I must
speak with king Thranduil before he proceeds�

Eldacar nodded and returned �My lord, lord Glorfindel
requests to speak with you before we resume� As Thranduil moved forward, he
glanced to his right and noticed that Mirduin was following �Duin, archers
usually stay back and release their arrows, you do not even have a sword�

The archer raised his brow �Ahh, but you would be amazed
at how much it hurts to be whacked with the feather end of an arrow my lord�I
am part of your guard now, and I will not stand back as my king advances�
Thranduil lightly chuckled �Do you know who that elf is that we are
approaching?�

Mirduin shook his head and
Thranduil arched his brow �Lord Glorfindel� The archer blinked in shock �Truly?
The lord Glorfindel?� �Nai, so you may relax some� Mirduin swallowed
hard as they drew close and thought �Valar, he is bigger then I thought�and
he is so very fair�the stories do not do him justice�

Thranduil smiled broadly �Lord
Glorfindel, it has been to long�how is my Legolas?� The seneschal glanced over
to the unfamiliar face �May I speak freely my lord?� Thranduil cleared his
throat �This is archer Mirduin, he is a new addition to my personal guard, so
nai�

Glorfindel then smiled, took a
step forward, and extended his hand. Mirduin suddenly gasped and pulled his
blade. Eldacar quickly leapt between Mirduin and Glorfindel as Thranduil
grabbed the archer�s hand.

The seneschal furrowed his brow
as the king lightly whispered to the archer �Nay Mirduin, let go�let go of the
dagger�he was only greeting you�he will not touch you calm down�

Glorfindel blinked as the
archer lightly turned to his king and whispered �I�I�m sorry my lord I�� Worry
not over it, may I tell him? It will explain your actions, he is very
understating�

The archer lightly nodded and
Thranduil turned �I apologize Findel, Legolas was not the only victim of healer
Thalos, Mirduin was also one of his victims, he recoils from any touch.
I think it is because I am his king, but I seem to be the only one he allows,
and even the slightest touch from me is met with trepidation�

Glorfindel sighed heavily, then
nodded �Not a problem my lord� The seneschal then looked to the archer and respectfully
inclined his head �It is nice to meet you archer Mirduin�

So that the archer would not
feel more self conscious, the seneschal then looked to the king and changed the
subject �My lord, I was sent forth to give you some information about Legolas
before you arrived�

Thranduil sighed, �Is�is he
fearful of touch?� �In a way�but only with healers my lord. Prince Erintur was
able to embrace him upon his arrival, and he often seeks me out for comfort, I
think this is due to me being the one who found him. He is also rather lonely
and has no concept of subtlety. If he does not know you, the first thing out of
his mouth, is a question on whether or not you are a healer. He even pulled a
blade on lord Elrond�

Thranduil groaned and
Glorfindel cleared his throat �Lord Elrond was not offended, he
understood�and�and there is something else� The king worried his brow �What
Findel, what is it�

The seneschal took a deep
breath �Legolas has been alone this whole time, save the company of some elder
trees. Over time, due to him not hearing any other type of speech, he has�well,
he��

Thranduil held up his hand and
shook his head �Wait�are telling me that my Legolas speaks like an elder tree?�
Glorfindel nodded �Nai, he gets confused if you speak otherwise, chief advisor
Erestor volunteered to help him relearn to read and speak, though he has not
begun to do this yet�

Thranduil nodded and sighed
�Alright old friend, take me to my sons�

As they made their way,
Glorfindel could not help but repeatedly glance over at the archer. Eldacar
pulled his horse close and whispered �Shame isn�t it�one so fair, and yet so
unapproachable� Glorfindel arched his brow �Eldacar, you wish to pursue?�

The captain shook his head
�Nay, I belong to the king�I just feel for the poor archer�

The seneschal slowly moved his
horse and kept time with the archer, though giving him space �I hope you will
enjoy Rivendel archer Mirduin�

The archer swallowed nervously
and sighed �Hannon le my lord, and I do apologize for my actions earlier, king
Thranduil is attempting to expose me to others and��

Glorfindel shook his head
�Eh�no apologies needed, I have already put it behind me and hope that we may
start anew and be friends�

~*~*~

When they entered the
courtyard, Thranduil sighted Erintur sitting and chatting on the stone steps
with two other elves. As he slowly approached, he heard the blond say, ��gave
long blades me�

Thranduil blinked and cleared
his throat �Ion?� Legolas turned and swallowed hard �A�Ada?� Thranduil put out
his arms and smiled �Nai, come give hug Ada�

Legolas leapt to his feet and
wrapped his arms around his fathers neck and Thranduil chuckled �Ai you tall
now!� The prince stepped back and whipped his face �I kill bad
healer�Glorfindel say not kinslayer�

Thranduil shook his head and
pulled him close �Nay ion, you not kinslayer�you brave warrior prince� Legolas
buried his head into his fathers chest �So�so Ada not mad me?�

Thranduil choked as he hugged
him tight �Nay, not mad, proud you kill evil healer�
