Ch14

Legolas paled �I can not leave
the way I came�the halls will be to heavily guarded now!� Haldir winced when he
heard the tone of Thranduils voice as he yelled again, now much closer
�Legolaaas!?� As the march warden heard the guards outside his door say �No one
has entered my lord� he drug Legolas to the bed, shoved him to the floor and
rolled him under the bed. Haldir quickly leaped to the chair and picked up his
glass, just as Thranduil burst thru the door.

Haldir turned and smiled �Good
evening king Thranduil, you appear upset� Thranduil narrowed his eyes �Save it
Haldir, where is he� The march warden furrowed his brow �Where is who�
�Legolas!� Haldir smiled and gestured toward the bed �Oh, he is hiding under my
bed�

Thranduil growled �I mean it
Haldir, where is he!� The march warden got up and retrieved another bottle of
wine �He is hiding under my bed�would you care to join me for a glass?� The
king shook his head �That is not funny Haldir, he is not in his room and I grow
concerned�I thought perhaps he came here� then walked to the door. Haldir
walked him out �I hope you find him� then locked the door after the king left.

The Lorien warrior turned and
watched as Legolas rolled out from his hiding spot �I can not believe you told
him where I was and�and that he did not believe you� Haldir shrugged �Eh, tis
an old battle tactic. Your capture asks you a question, you answer right away
with the truth, but because he expects you to be deceiving, he does not believe
you. The important thing is�I did not lie to your Adar�

Legolas shook his head and
chuckled �Well, you will not be able to use that one again�my Adar is sharp, he
will catch on to that tactic� �Mmm, I know. But at least it worked this time�
The prince sat down on the side of the bed �You and Turelon will get along
well, he is always looking for ways to get Adar�

Haldir smiled and joined the
prince �You get along with your brother well?� Legolas shrugged �Nai, after he
stopped tying me to a tree we�� The prince smirked when he saw Haldir face
�Oh�when I was little, he would tie me to a tree, then dance around me after he
covered me with honey, while he whistled and sang, �Come Ungol�s eat my
brother! He is tasty! Come!�

Haldir burst out laughing, �You
jest!� �Nay, truly�it was rather frightening, I�I would cry and call for my
Naneth. I was just a small elfling at the time�I got him back when I was older,
though I got in trouble for it� Haldir arched his brow �Oh do tell� Legolas
smiled �I uhm�when he was taking a bath, I removed all of the clothing from his
room. He was due to attend a meeting with Adar and his counselors and�the only
clothing I provided him with was one of my outfits. Of course they did not fit
and he looked so ridiculous�Adar was furious�

Legolas bit his lip and sighed
�But I did not stop there. Turelon often complained about the elleth�s who
followed him around because he is the crown prince, so one time, I drug his
wine and placed him in the maidens baths�� Legolas blushed ��that one he
did not get upset about. I wasn�t thinking about the fact that he actually liked
elleth�s�

Haldir shook his head and chuckled �Orophin constantly
torments Rumil. He even threatened to put him in a dress and place him in the
barracks. But tell me, how did you do these things hmm? You must have
had help� Legolas smiled but did not answer. �Ahh, your silence tells me that
Vayden helped� The prince and arched his brows and feigned innocence �I know
not what you mean, Vayden is a fine upstanding elf who would never do such
things� �Mmm��

Hours had passed as they talked. During a lull in there
chatting, Haldir slowly leaned forward and kissed the prince. Legolas smiled,
then leaned back over and kissed the warden, but Haldir suddenly stiffened a
bit. Legolas furrowed his brow �Am I not allowed to initiate a kiss?� �Nay, you
may kiss me if you wish� �Then why do you stiffen, I realize that I am not as
experienced as you but��

Haldir placed his finger over
the princes lips �Forgive me Legolas, I was not meaning to stiffen� The prince
moved closer and placed his hand on Haldir�s knee as he kissed him again, but
when the prince placed his other hand on the back of the warriors head, Haldir
took a sharp intake of breath and went ridged �You are fearing my touch? Am I
doing something wrong?�

Haldir sighed �Nay Legolas you
are doing nothing wrong� �Then�� Haldir groaned and shook his head �I truly do
not mean to react this way�� The warden then mumbled �Tis one of the reasons I
have only had two lovers, and why they did not last long��

Legolas blinked and tilted his
head �Haldir, I am rather inexperienced�and perhaps I am misreading you, but
your actions are telling me you are uncomfortable with my touch�why� The Lorien
warrior let out a long sigh �Make yourself comfortable Legolas, there are some
things you need to know about me�
