Chapter 19--Healing
Elrond showed up the next morning right after breakfast. "Good morning, Glorfindel, Erestor. How are you feeling, my friend?" he asked.
"Fine, I have no pain at all," Erestor said quickly. He wanted out of here, so he could get away from Glorfindel.
"He was in pain last night, Elrond. I made him drink some of the mixture you left behind," Glorfindel said.
Elrond frowned and began gently probing Erestor's side. Elrond didn't notice the deadly look Erestor gave Glorfindel while he was occupied.
Glorfindel winked roguishly. "If you do not mind I will go to my chamber to bathe and change clothes, Elrond," he said.
"Fine, come back as soon as you are finished," Elrond said. Finished with the examination, he pulled back. "You are not fully healed yet. I want you to wait for two more days before you leave the bed," he said as Glorfindel left.
"That cursed Elda will make me insane before then," Erestor hissed. "Can I not return to my room?"
"I do not feel that you should be alone, Erestor. Besides Glorfindel is not that bad," Elrond said.
"You would not say that if you were the one stuck with him over a prolonged time," Erestor said.
Elrond just shook his head. "It will only be two more days. I must insist that Glorfindel stays with you Erestor. It is for your own good," he said.
Erestor sighed in defeat. "I will do as you ask," he said reluctantly.
"Good, it is for your own safety. I will leave you alone for a while," Elrond said. He noticed the book on the bed table and handed to his advisor then left.
Erestor sighed in exasperation and opened the book. Perhaps Glorfindel would take a good long bath, so he could have some peace for a time. An hour or so passed then Glorfindel returned.
"Did you miss me, lirimaer?" Glorfindel asked cheerfully.
"Not in the slightest, feel free to leave again if you please," Erestor said without looking up from the book.
Glorfindel just smirked and sat down in the chair beside the bed.

Celebrian smiled at her husband when he entered the library and laid her book aside. "Is all well with Erestor, love?" she asked.
"He is healing nicely. He will be back on his feet in two days," Elrond said. He chuckled a bit. "Erestor is very eager to get away from Glorfindel right now."
Celebrian rose and poured a goblet of wine and handed it to her husband. "They have never gotten along well. It is rather tiresome," she said.
"I think that might change, at least if Glorfindel has his way," Elrond said.
"What do you mean?" Celebrian asked curiously.
"Glorfindel is trying to court Erestor," Elrond said, "and he is not having an easy time of it."
Erestor and Glorfindel? A scribe and a warrior? That is a definite mismatch," Celebrian said.
"Erestor is as much a warrior as Glorfindel is. He is a guardian, remember?" Elrond asked.
"I want to speak with you about that," Celebrian said. "But I also think you should talk Glorfindel out of courting Erestor. There can be no good in that."
"Why?" Elrond asked in surprise. "I have often thought they would be good for each other."
"I-I just think it is unwise. I do not like this bond between you, the twins and Erestor. It is unhealthy and unnatural," Celebrian said. "Can the blood bond be dissolved?"
"It could be, but I do not wish to do so. Erestor saved the twins' lives in that storm. If not for the bond our sons might have not been found until it was to late," Elrond said.
Celebrian looked disapproving, but she sighed and nodded. "I will accept your decision, my love, but it still disturbs me," she said.
Elrond finished his wine then kissed his wife tenderly. "I love you. I must go to my study and begin working on today's paperwork," he said.
"Of course, I will see you at lunch," Celebrian said. She smiled until he left then frowned. She didn't like the bond and she wanted it dissolved and Erestor gone from Imladris. He made her uncomfortable and she didn't like the feeling. She liked the idea of Glorfindel courting him even less. If Erestor and Glorfindel ever bonded she would never be free of Erestor.
-------------------
When Erestor fell back into reverie once again Glorfindel went back to Erestor's chamber and fetched the chessboard. Perhaps they could have a rematch when the dark elf woke again. When he returned Celebrian was there. "Good morning, Lady," he said with a bow.
"Hello, Glorfindel. I was just going to see if Erestor needed anything, but I do not wish to wake him. Do you require anything?" Celebrian asked.
"Thank you, Lady, but no. We have all we need for now," Glorfindel said.
Celebrian nodded, smiled and then left the room. She closed the door softly behind her.
Glorfindel frowned. Something had seemed to be bothering his Lady. He shrugged and went back to tending Erestor. Elrond would deal with any problems his wife had after all. He was responsible for Erestor alone right now.
A/N: Something is rotten around Imladris. Please R/R for the poor newbie slasher!
