Ch2

Orophin held Haldir in his bed, stroking his face as he
dreamed in reverie�

~~The march warden was standing
on the bank of a beautiful river. Calm, moss covered branched dipped into the
water from twisted elder trees �This woodland is quite�� Haldir lost his words
as he saw someone swimming. He stood behind one of the great trees, and watched
the young blond elf emerge from the water on the opposite bank and thought �How
fair his form is� The elf suddenly turned to where he was, and Haldir
nervously walked out from behind the tree. The elf across the small river just
calmly looked at him, as though all of this were normal. Haldir placed his hand
to his heart and bowed, the other returned the gesture �Why can I not see
his face�everything else is as clear as a mountain stream�yet his face eludes
me� The elf grabbed his clothes and weapons, then promptly disappeared.
Haldir furrowed his brow and called out �Nay saes! Come back! Who are you!� ~~

Haldir shot up in bed, causing
a startled Orophin to fall to the floor with a loud thud �Brother, I am here,
all is well� Haldir�s eyes began to well up, and the look that Orophin received
was enough to make him take a step back �Where is he! Where did he go! Tell
me�you tell me who he is now!!�

Haldir sprung from the bed and
lunged at him �Nay! Brother nay! Daro�it is I Orophin!� Haldir startled his
chest, pinning him to the floor. Orophin tried to wriggle loose, but new he
would not succeed �Haldir saes, it is me�Orophin, I know not who you speak of,
but I will do my best to find out�release me�saes��

Rumil and the others entered just in time to witness
Haldir follow thru with a fisted punch to Orophin�s jaw �Nay! You will tell me
now�who is he!� Elladan and Elrohir swiftly grabbed the march warden and
wrestled him to the bed, just as he lost consciousness.

Orophin rubbed his jaw and
winced, then furrowed his brow �The twins?� It was then that he heard a
familiar voice �I would defiantly have to say, that there is something amiss with
Haldir� Orophin rose and bowed �Lord Elrond, welcome� Turning his gaze to
Rumil, he chuckled �What, did you run all the way to Imladris?�

Glorfindel arrived with lord
Celeborn, and Orophin and Rumil bowed immediately �Much has happened here,
saes, tell me that our visions of our dear march warden are false� Elrond shook
his head and looked to Glorfindel. The seneschal silently nodded, went to his
friend, and bound him to the bed. Elladan and Elrohir walked to Orophin and
embraced him.

The lord of Imladris looked to
Celeborn and frowned �When we arrived, he was accosting his brother�demanding
answers to questions that Orophin had no knowledge of. He wept as he did this,
and only stopped when he fell to unconsciousness� Glorfindel crossed his arms
and sighed as he looked at his friend �We have saved each others arse�s more
then once�I owe him and I know him�he must be possessed by some evil�

Light seemed to spread over the
room, and everyone instinctively bowed as they turned to the door and watched Galadriel
enter �Tis not evil that hold our march warden captive�tis love� Orophin
furrowed his brow �Love my lady?� Galadriel smiled warmly �Your brother raised
you both�so that you two would be happy and well cared for�Tell me, when did he
have time for himself between family and duty?�

Orophin furrowed his brow �I�I
know he has had a lover or two� �Ahh, a lover or two�but no love. His soul
searched for his love, and he will weep until he finds him� Glorfindel blinked
�Him?� Rumil tilted his head �Nai, Haldir prefers males, you knew this not?�
The seneschal looked back at his unconscious friend �Nay�he never told me, or
eluded to it. Though it does explain his reaction in the baths, when we teased
him with the towels�

Glorfindel took a deep breath
stood tall �Well, we must find this love of his�I will not just stand by and
watch my friend fall to Mandos� Celeborn took his lady�s hand �Lothlorien used
to have a healer that dealt with maters of the soul. But she moved with her
bonded to Mirkwood, to be with his family�Haldir must go to Mirkwood�

Everyone�s eyes widened and
Rumil shuddered �But�my lord, what if king Thranduil will not grant him entry
to his woodland realm�what if he refuses to let him see this healer and��
Celeborn held up his hand �Daro Rumil, calm yourself now, we will send a
messenger bird explaining the situation. Thranduils mate was a friend of
Galadriel�s before she sailed. He will not deny her request for aid, despite
his stubborn ways�

Orophin noticed that Haldir was
beginning to stir and went to his side. The march warden could tell that his
room was full of bodies, and that he could not move and fearfully whispered
�Na�nay�. As he began to tremble, Rumil rushed over �Nay brother�you are safe,
no one is here to hurt you�

When he regained his focus, his
eyes went wide when he saw the lord and lady, and tears began to flow �Wh�why
am I bound?� then glanced to Orophin and noticed the bruise forming on his chin
�Nay, Orophin�did I�� Tis alright my brother� Haldir shook his head �Nay it is
not�I do not know what came over me�saes forgive me� �There is nothing to
forgive, you were tormented�

Everyone watched as tears
flowed silently down his face and Galadriel drew close �I apologize for
distracting your time, I�saes my lady�what curse has befallen me that I can not
stop�� The lady of light placed her finger on his lips �Hush now Haldir, you
are not cursed� She then leaned over and lightly kissed his forehead. The tears
stopped and she motioned for Glorfindel to release him.

Haldir sat up and inclined his
head �Hannon le my lady�I feel much better� �Tis only temporary� Celeborn
looked to Orophin and the young warrior left the room. Glorfindel sat down next
to him and nudged his shoulder �So�my old friend, you prefer the company of males
then?� Haldir�s eyes widened �What?� Orophin returned with a few treys of food
and Celeborn gestured �You should eat Haldir, you will need your strength, for
tomorrow, you begin your journey�

Haldir looked at everyone
confused �Journey my lord?� �Nai, you depart for Mirkwood on the morrow� The
march warden gasped �Mirkwood? M�my lord I�I realize my actions are�well�saes,
do not punish me by sending me to Mirkwood, with my actions as they are, king
Thranduil will most certainly put me in his dungeon!�

Celeborn stood a bit taller and
narrowed his eyes �You will go to Mirkwood Haldir, the only reason you
are functioning now, is because Galadriel blessed you for a time. You need
the healer that resides there�and Elrond, my grandsons, Glorfindel and your
brothers will accompany you�

Elrond arched his brow and
pulled Celeborn into the kitchen and sighed with annoyance �Truly Cel, how
could you volunteer us thusly� �Regardless of Celebrian sailing, you are still
my son in law, so I feel I may do as I wish, and Glorfindel is your mate now,
so he falls into the volunteer as well� Elrond rolled his eyes and chuckled
�But Cel�Mirkwood?�

Celeborn shook his head
�Elrond, his brothers can not take him alone, if Haldir was to become violent
again, they would stand no chance against him. Glorfindel will be able to keep
him in check with Orophin�s help, the twins would be able to fend off any foes
you may encounter, and Rumil can tend to camp�besides, you could watch after
Rumil, he is still young, and has only been in our defenses for a mere month. I
would feel better if an adult was going�

Elrond furrowed his brow �Well,
Glorfindel is older then all of us put together�he is an adult and�� Elrond
then stopped and shook his head �Eh, never mind, his behavior is worse then my
sons most of the time�very well, we will leave tomorrow morning�
