Chapter 2
Arthon turned and followed Aragorn out of the room. They walked down a long hall and into one of the guestrooms. The room was quite spacious and well lit.
"There is a bathing chamber through that door. If you need anything just ask someone. Everyone here will be more then willing to help you."
"OK."
Arthon set his bag down on the bed and looked around the room. Against one wall was a tall wooden dresser. In the corner was a small table with two chairs. In the bathing chamber there was a huge sunken tub. Man he couldn’t wait to take a bath in it. He walked back over to the bed and lay down.
Aragorn walked back to the study and found Arwen inside.
"Ada that boy is an edhel." Said Arwen.
"Yes he is. I have a sneaking suspicion that he is from Mirkwood. There was a baby taken from there thirty years ago." Looking at Aragorn, "Aragorn I want you to take this letter to Lord Thranduil. I think that Arthon may be his missing son."
Taking the letter from him, "I will leave right away my lord."
Elrond nodded and watched Aragorn leave the room. Then he got up and walked outside followed by Arwen.
"Ada do you really think that he is Lord Thranduil’s son."
"Mae, I do. That would make him a ernil. Make sure that all of the servants know to get him anything that he needs."
Arwen nodded and left. Elrond walked down the hall and up to the guestroom door. He gave a gentle knock but there was no answer. Slowly he opened the door and smiled when he saw the young boy asleep on the bed. He just stood there and watched the boy sleep. There was something about him that was drawing Elrond to him. He silently shut the door and walked back to his study.
2 Days Later
Aragorn rode into the wood elves home and quickly got off of his horse. He had been here many times before when he had come to see Legolas. He quickly walked toward Lord Thranduil’s study hoping that he was in there. He was just about to knock on the door when it opened and he found himself face to face with Legolas. Legolas was extremely curious as to why the ranger was there.
"Aragorn what are you doing here?" asked Legolas.
"I have a letter for your father. Is he here."
"Yes, but why did Elrond send you."
"Probably because he wanted to make sure that it got here."
Legolas stepped aside and let Aragorn walk into the room. Aragorn immediately walked up to the desk and handed Thranduil the letter. He watched as the elf lord slowly read the letter and then looked up. There was obvious shock showing in his eyes.
"Is this true." Thranduil replied his voice was shaking slightly.
"Lord Elrond believes so."
"His name is Arthon."
Aragorn heard Legolas gasp behind him. The elf prince obviously hadn’t left the room. "Mae, the only problem is that he doesn’t remember much about his real home."
"Elrond believes that if he sees some one familiar that he might remember."
"I don’t know but if that is what the letter says then I am guessing so."
Looking at his son, "Legolas go with Aragorn to Rivendell and see. I will join you in a few days when I get things settled here."
"Mae, Adar." Replied Legolas.
Aragorn followed Legolas out of the study and into Legolas’s room. He grabbed a small bag and packed some clothes in it. Then he walked over to the door and grabbed his bow and arrows. They walked outside and over to Aragorn’s horse which was still standing in the courtyard. Legolas quickly went to the stable and got his horse. A few minutes later Legolas rode into the courtyard and they left the city.
Arthon had only been in Rivendell for two days and he was already noticing how nice everyone was. He had only seen Lord Elrond a couple of times but he already liked the older elf very much. Elrond had told him that he was having a fighting sword and bow made for him. Arthon knew that soon he would be able to start practicing with them so that he could learn to protect himself. Lady Arwen had been helping him with elvish traditions and ways of life that Arthon did not know about. He sighed and leaned back against the tree. It was so quiet and peaceful out here. Arthon closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
It had been a couple of hours since Lord Elrond has seen the young ernil. He had looked in his room but Arthon was not there. He seemed to have vanished. Elrond walked into the dinning hall and saw his daughter talking to one of the servants. He walked up to them and waited for Arwen to finish speaking with the servant before he spoke. When Arwen finished talking she turned toward her adar.
"Is something wrong ada?"
"Not really, but have you seen Arthon? I can not find him anywhere and I have something for him." He said holding up a beautiful fighting sword.
"He is down by the river. One of the servants said that he was asleep."
Smiling, "Well at least he is in the city where it is safe."
Elrond left the dinning hall and headed toward the river that ran through the city. He smiled when he found the young elf asleep under a tree. Elrond just stood there for a moment watching him. His eyes roamed over Arthon’s smooth facial features. His face seemed perfect in every way. The only thing that seemed out of place was Arthon’s short blonde hair. Sighing, Elrond knew that with time his hair would grow to be long and beautiful.
As if sensing that someone was watching him Arthon opened his eyes and looked up at Lord Elrond. He was slightly shocked to find the elf lord standing there staring at him.
"Is something wrong my lord?" asked Arthon nervously.
Holding out the fighting sword, "No. I wanted to give this to you."
Arthon took the beautiful fighting sword and looked at it. The blade was at least 15’ long. There was an elvish inscription written along the length of the blade. The handle was made of a hard firm wood and had a good grip to it.
"It is beautiful, hannon le."
"You are welcome. Your bow will be ready tomorrow. You will also be given some arrows to practice with."
Arthon just nodded. He was to busy admiring the sword. Elrond handed him the sheath for the sword and he slipped the sword into it. Then he got up and headed for his room. Elrond watched him go before heading for his own private rooms.
