Thaladirith growled as he felt the knife press firmly against his neck. “You
have made a mistake, son of Elrond,” he seethed. “I will slice Legolas from
ear to ear before you can move.”
“You, Captain, think too highly of yourself,” Elrohir replied, having
grabbed his own knives while Thaladirith was distracted. “My dagger will
strike your hand and you will drop the knife before you have your chance.”“Fucking half-elves,” the captain snarled. “You think you are so finely
trained. I was killing orcs before you were born! You are no match for me.”**’Now, Elrohir!’** Elladan sent as he cut Thaladirith’s throat just
enough to cause him to flinch. Elrohir’s dagger stuck in the captain’s hand
and he dropped the knife he had been holding to Legolas’ throat.“Legolas, are you well?” Elladan asked his beloved, but the prince did
not reply. He was staring at the wounded captain writhing on the ground in pain.
The elf warrior shook him and got his attention. “Are you well?”“Aye,” Legolas replied wrapping his arms around Elladan. “I am
unharmed, ‘tis just a scratch.”Elrohir bound the captain’s hands and stood him up. “Never underestimate
a Peredhil; it is harmful to your health. Thranduil will be interested in your
plans for his youngest son.”“When he hears how you have blackmailed me over the years you will be lucky
if he lets you live,” Legolas said as he looked at Thaladirith in disgust. “I
would say you will be exiled and ordered to sail.”“We should get him back to the palace and let your father decide what to do
with this scum,” Elladan suggested as he looked at the still bleeding cut on
Legolas’ throat. “’Tis good that Elrohir and I can mind speak or you could
have been killed. I think it will need to be stitched, melethen.”“Only if you or Elrohir will be the one doing the stitching, for I am not
fond of healers,” Legolas replied trying not to grin.“Did you hear that, Dan?” Elrohir laughed. “We are doomed. He will
never love us as he should, just because we are healers.”“I think the prince just wants us to kiss it and make it better,” Elladan
surmised, chuckling.“We will do that and much more,” Elrohir replied, smiling mischievously
at Legolas.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The Great Hall
Thranduil was not happy to be pulled from his meeting with Elrond to take
care of an unexpected problem, but when he entered the hall, he saw Legolas and
the twins holding his captain with bound hands.
“What is going on here and why is my Captain tied as if he is a criminal?”
The king demanded.“Father, if I may explain,” Legolas said, keeping his voice calm and his
manner prince-like.“Please, and do it quickly. I have little patience today,” Thranduil
replied firmly. "Legolas, what has happened to your throat? Come closer so
that I may see." Angry eyes turned on the captain and the entire court held
their collective breaths.Elrond, Erestor and Glorfindel watched the happenings with barely concealed
curiosity, along with the rest of the members in court.“For many years Thaladirith has blackmailed me into doing what he wishes,
and today he held me and threatened Elrohir. It was only Elladan’s timely
arrival that saved us,” the prince explained. “Never has he harmed me
before, but to get me to agree to certain terms, he threatened your life, my
king, and mine as well.”Thranduil turned a dark look on his captain before turning back to his son.
“Why have you never spoken of this before today?”“I feared for your life, father,” Legolas answered honestly. “Thaladirith
is closer to you than anyone, and had many ways and chances to harm you. I could
not put your life in jeopardy. It was easier to do as the captain wished.”“He did not force you…” Thranduil began, but was interrupted by
Legolas.“Nay, he did not force himself on me, father,” the prince swore. “After
my majority he allowed no one to approach me or even to look at me with
any interest. Thaladirith was going to force me to bind with him and
then kill you, father. Elrohir witnessed everything, and if it wasn't for his
and Elladan's quick thinking, we all may have perished this day.It was then that the twins pushed Thaladirith to his knees in front of the
king. “You are lucky Elladan and Elrohir have as much honor as they do,
Captain. If I had caught you in the act, there is no telling what I might have
done!" Thranduil's anger was clear in his voice. "Guards! Take him to
the dungeons until I have my anger under control.”Two guards rushed forward and escorted Thaladirith to the dungeons below the
palace. Thranduil turned to Legolas and frowned. “I will talk to you later, my
son, about the importance of telling your father everything. Right now, see to
the cut on your throat. I expect you to meet me at my office before the dinner
hour. You are dismissed.”Legolas turned to leave with Elladan and Elrohir following. “We have the
necessary healing supplies in our room to sew you up,” Elrohir offered,
grinning.“Does it really need to be stitched?” Legolas asked with a sigh.“Once we clean it up and get a better look we will decide, but we will do
what is best for you, my Prince,” Elladan replied as he moved his lover’s
blond hair back from the cut. “We will have to wash your hair so it does not
stain.”“Get the supplies and meet me in my room,” Legolas suggested. “I have a
much bigger tub and my bed will hold all of us….if we should need it, that is.”“I have a feeling we will need it my, Prince,” Elladan replied coyly. “It
was hard work spending the morning in the armory and rescuing you and Elrohir.
Come to think of it, I should get a special treat for doing so.”Elrohir raised an eyebrow and looked at his brother. “And what would that
be, Dan?”“Why both of you, of course,” he said matter-of-factly.Elrohir and Legolas stopped in their tracks, not sure if they heard the elder
twin correctly.“What?” Elladan said, turning around to see why they stopped.“You just said you wanted us both,” Legolas replied slowly.“Aye, I did and I do,” Elladan answered a half smile on his face.“Sweet Eru, let’s not talk about it in the hall….get the stuff Elladan.
I’m going with Legolas to make sure I am not dreaming.” Elrohir still looked
shocked as the prince took his hand and led him down the hall.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
The Dungeons
Thranduil made his way to the cell that had been assigned to Thaladirith and
stopped to look at the elf he used to trust with his life. What he saw before
him now was a manipulative, greedy, evil elf that should not even be allowed to
see another sunrise.
The captain stared back at his king with a scowl on his face.“Your countenance does not help your case any, Thaladirith,” Thranduil
said his voice limned with hate.“I should have killed you when I had the chance,” the captain replied
with a sneer. “Legolas would have done anything to protect you. I should have
forced him and then watched him fade.“Such brave words from someone who is facing exile or death,” the king
replied angrily.“So many times he started to tell you, but he could see me watching him and
listening to what he was saying to you,” Thaladirith spat. “He may be known
for his mettle as a warrior, but I could look at him a certain way and he would
cower. Legolas is so much like his mother; they both deserved the way they were
treated.”“You dared touch my wife?” Thranduil asked, enraged by the implication.“I did not have to touch her,” the evil elf snapped. “She did my
bidding willingly. Tell me, Thranduil King, are you sure Legolas was born of
your loins?”“How dare you question my queen’s honor!” the king said, trying to grab
the captain through the bars. “You better thank the Valar for your life this
night, *orc spawn*. It is the last you will spend in Arda. A patrol is
leaving for the Havens in the morning and you will accompany them, and then be
placed on a ship to sail. May the Valar have mercy on your soul.”Thranduil left the dungeons muttering under his breath, but thankful he did
not need to worry about the captain around his son any longer. The guilt the
king felt for not realizing what was going on under his very nose nearly led him
to tears.~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**‘Make sure you bring the rings, Dan,’** Elrohir sent his brother
