Severus awoke with a start. Something was nagging at the back of his mind.
What could it be? He wondered, staring at the ceiling. He turned around to look at the time. 10 o’clock already, man I must have been tired last night.
He looked at the man lying next to him, who was still sound asleep. A loving smile crept onto his face.
What have I ever done to deserve such a wonderful, loving, handsome,… holy shit! I was supposed to teach potions half an hour ago.
He bolted out of his bed, realised he still had his close on from yesterday, put on his shoes and sprinted towards the classroom.
“Good morning class.” He breathed, quickly walking towards his desk.
The Gryffindor and Slytherin 7th years looked at him bemused.
“What?” he questioned, glaring at all of them.
“Well sir, uh it’s just that you look different this morning.” Seamus Finnegan told him, holding back a laugh.
“Different how?”
“Well.. uh.. you’re not wearing your standard black robes, I believe your shirt is inside out and in general it looks like you have just come out of bed; especially looking at the state your hair is in and the sleep lines all over your face.”
“Maybe I did. Just grab your textbook and open it on page 492. Here you will find a remembering potion, which you may find very useful Mr Longbottom.
Most of the time this potion is used to interrogate eyewitnesses, so they can precisely recall what the lawbreakers looked like. But ever since Voldemort used it on some of his victims it has been banned illegal until recently.
You can also find the potion in some households, but as the ingredients are very expensive and the potion is very difficult to make. Most people don’t even bother to either make or buy it. Also even the slightest mistake can cause serious side effects.
It will take a couple of weeks to finish making the potion. I’ve put the first steps onto the blackboard.” As he said this, he waved his hand and the directions appeared.
“Well of you go!”
He quickly went into his office to make his appearance more presentable. He let a House Elf bring him some of his robes and a mirror. He indeed looked very different this morning, both from the in- and outside.

For Legolas the day started at 7pm. The unicorns suggested that he would rest a little longer, but he would have none of it and stubbornly started to walk. He hoped by the Valar that his friends and especially Aragorn were still at Hogwarts. He thankfully found that day by day his strength was returning, able-ing him to walk a little longer and faster each day.
The thought to see his lover again gave him that extra strength to continue. Had it already been almost four weeks since he had last saw him again? Thank Elbereth that he had been unconscious for most of the time. It would have been unbearable otherwise. He probably would have died from a broken heart. How he longed to see Aragorn’s face again, to be in his arms, hold him, kiss him…
He stumbled, falling flat onto his face.
~Are you alright, Legolas?~
~Yes.~ came the muffled reply.
~Would you like to ride onto one of our backs?~ Zophiël, the only female unicorn amongst the trio, asked.
~I would rather not, but I do not think that would be the wisest course of action, so if you do not mind: yes please.~
The unicorn bended her knees, making it easier for the weakened Elf to climb on top of her back.

An hour went by, but to Legolas it seemed like an eternity. Thoughts about Aragorn were plaguing his mind. What if he had returned already? What if I cannot get home and have to spend the remainder of my days in this world. Well at least it will not be long. I will probably die from a broken hearts in a matter of weeks (? A/n: of is it days? I dunno.)
Okay Legolas, he said to himself. Think positive this is not doing you any good. Remember always look at the bright sight of life. He said the last line over and over again in his mind.
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*
At lunch Aragorn sat excitingly next to Severus, poking around in his food and smiling at everyone who even remotely looked into his direction.
“Will you please stop being so over enthusiastic?!” Severus snapped, putting his knife down.
Aragorn looked at him, eyebrows raised in amusement. “What is the matter Severus, you do not like merry people?”
“I’m only warning you. What if we don’t find him or we do and he’s dead? You should always think of the worst case scenario, this way you will almost never get disappointed in life.”
Aragorn stared at him surprised. “Well I suppose you are right, but I rather see a silver lining, it makes life to be more positive. If you think positive and believe in something with all your might, you stand a better chance at succeeding.”
“Trust me, when you have been through…” he stopped in mid sentence, when Remus sat down next to him.
Aragorn looked curious at the two of them. He saw Severus leaning over and whispering something into the wolf’s ear, who’s facial expression instantly brightened. The only remainder of the Fellowship felt an aching in his heart…. :Legolas. His cheery mood was gone in an instant as he thought about all the things he would miss if Legolas did not return. If he could only see his face one more time or at least have a chance to properly say goodbye. He would give his life for just that.
“I take it back.” Severus suddenly said. “I think it depends on the person, whether you should think of the bright side or not.”
Strider gave a small smile: “Yes I have to believe he is still alive. I do not think I will be able to life on otherwise.”
The Potionsmaster smiled, putting his hand beneath the table, probably holding Remus’.
“I know exactly what you mean.”

Welcome all, please sit down.” Albus greeted them, summoning enough chairs for all the occupants in the room. Apart from all the teachers, some students were invited as well. It probably won’t come as a big surprise to you, when I tell you that those students were named: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy.
“On Aragorn’s request I invited you all to come here. King Elessar, if you please..”
“No title please.” Estel said, feeling a little uncomfortable. “Thank you all for coming. As probably all of you know Legolas is still missing. Albus has come with a new way to try and find him, namely with a soultracer spell, the so called: animus reperio.” He looked around, most of the people seemed puzzled, others surprised and curious. “Maybe Albus, you should take over now?”
“Alright, the animus reperio spell is a very difficult one. As such not many people know how to cast it. On top that, it was banned illegal some years ago. But as it is a very helpful spell in rescue operations men is now allowed to use it for causes just like this particular one.
Who of the people gathered here tonight knows how to cast the spell?”
Three people raised their hands: Snape, McGonagall and Flitwick.
“Including myself that makes four people. I suggest we divide into teams, making sure that there is at least a mile and a half between each search party. This to make sure we do not accidentally trace each other. The teams will be as followed:
Team one: Minerva, Poppy and Hermione
Team two: Severus, Ron and Draco
Team three: Aragorn, Flitwick, Hagrid and Sybill
Team four: Remus, Harry and myself.”
“Man why can’t I get a bloody break!” Ron whispered to Hermione, who grinned in return.
“By the looks of it professor Snape and Malfoy aren’t happy about the team outcome either.”
Severus and Draco indeed looked rather disappointed.
“We will start tonight at eleven o’clock. Try not to arouse too much suspicion as I do not want the other students to go of wandering in the woods.” Albus explained.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
When everyone slowly started to leave Albus’ office Draco casually held Harry back with a soft tap on his arm and a nod of his head.
Harry easily got rid of both Ron and Hermione by saying he had to ask something to professor Lupin about the following evening.
“What’s wrong Drae?”
“Well maybe the fact that I haven’t been alone with you for a whole week!” Draco sighed. “I just miss you. You… uhm.. you … oh Harry please tell me you still like me.” Draco said, looking desperately at Harry.
The boy who lived looked lovingly at the boy in front of him: “Daco you stupid git.” He murmured, before embracing him.
“So that means you still like me?” Draco whispered in his ear.
“No silly this means I’m in love with you.” Harry told him, kissing him passionately.
His boyfriend kissed him back hungrily, he had been graving for Harry’s touch these last couple of days.
“Maybe it would be better if we moved to somewhere a bit little less in the open?” Draco suggested.
After all they were still standing just outside Dumbledore’s office. The stone gargoyles, who were protecting the entrance stood impassively only mere feet away.
Harry chuckled: “You’re absolutely right. Imagine what would happen if the Headmaster would find us snogging just outside his office.”
“Well it’s not like he doesn’t know about our relationship anyway.” Malfoy remarked.
“True, rarely anything escapes that man and I’m not sure whether that’s a good thing or not, especially in our case. But where do you suggest we go to?”
Draco thought about that for a second before answering: “Well there is this room down in the dungeons where hardly anyone comes. Snape uses it to give private lessons to some of the students from time to time.”
“That sounds perfect.”
They quickly walked towards the dungeons, where Draco let them through many corridors before finally coming to a halt before a very small wooden door, with a painting of a beautiful dragon on it. The dragon was sound asleep in a giant forest, tall majestic trees surrounding him everywhere. It snored very loudly, spitting fire once in a while when it released its breath.
The boys looked unsure of what to do.
“Uh is there a password or something?” Harry asked, after trying to open the door unsuccessfully.
“Don’t remember maybe we should just wake it up or something?” Draco suggested.
“Yeah I think that’s the only thing we can do.”
The silver haired boy approached the painting with caution. “Excuse me.” He said….. no response. “Excuse me!” he said a whole lot louder this time…. Still no response. Draco getting a little irritated now started to tap onto the dragon’s head, while saying: “Hello, anybody in there?”
The big red with black creature jumped onto all fours and breathed fire towards its attacker.
“Bloody hell!” Draco said, stumbling backwards into Harry arms, who put an arm around his waist. “The painting actually turned hot!”
The dragon now looked suspiciously at the two of them. “What do you want?” it demanded to know.
“We would like to enter this classroom.” Harry explained kindly.
“And why would I allow you to do just that?”
“Uh, because we asked you nicely?” Harry tried.
The creature on the painting made a sound, which looked like a mix between a snort and a growl. Harry expected that it was his way of laughing.
“Well, if that would be a good enough reason for anyone to enter, then I would not be here, now would I? No you have to do a bit more then just asking nicely.”
“And what would be that be?” Draco snapped.
The dragon thought about the correct answer on his question for a while. “For starters you need to have a note from professor Snape and second you need to know the password.” The creature replied, looking smug. He wasn’t going to let them enter THAT easily.
“Draco growled in frustration. “Come on dragon, you know me. A few years back I used to come down here all the time. Don’t you remember me?”
“Perhaps, but who knows where your loyalties lye nowadays.” The magical creature remarked.
Harry sighed. “You know Drae, why don’t we stay right here? Who needs that classroom anyway? Didn’t you just say that hardly anyone comes down here?”
“Not often no.” Draco replied looking at him hungrily, quickly closing the gab between them. Harry wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, kissing him passionately.
“Oi boys, what are you doing?” the dragon asked a little distressed, but intrigued at the same time. “Do you have trouble breathing? Should I call for someone?”
when he got no response out of the boys and saw them starting to undress each other, he started to panic. Had they lost it completely?
Now fascinated he witnessed them being completely naked. When they started to make love on top of their pile of clothes, the dragon finally understood what was going on. He rolled his eyes, wondering whether two human males could get offspring as well. He was about to ask them about it, when he sensed someone approaching.
“Er boys…. BOYS! Someone is approaching.”
Draco immediately untangled himself from Harry and quickly grabbed his wand, pointed it towards him and muttered a spell. In mere seconds he was fully dressed again. In the meanwhile Harry tried the spell as well, unfortunately failing miserably.
Draco looked at him bemused, holding back a grin, before pointing his wand to Harry and getting all his cloth pieces on the right places this time.
They quickly straightened their robes, but before they could do something about the rest of their appearance, a person already rounded the corridor, who stopped bewildered when he spotted them.
“What are you two doing down here?” he barked.
“I.. uh.. we … were just..” Harry stammered.
“Please don’t tell me you were fighting?” The man sight, putting his hands on his hips and glaring at the both of them. “Gods, there doesn’t a day pass by or some students are running amok.”
“Of course we were not having a fight. We were just trying to enter this classroom to study.”
“Riiight and pigs can fly.” The man in front of them eyed them both suspiciously. “How stupid do you think I am?” The black haired professor snapped.
Draco immediately regretted the fact that he hadn’t told Snape that he was right and they had indeed come down here to fight.
“I want to hear the truth right now! Otherwise I will be forced to take points from both your houses and of course give you a lot of detention with Filch, who can use some young boys to do some tricky jobs for him.”
“Well sir.. we.. that is to say I .. no we.. yeah we had to.. uh.” Harry started, thinking very hard of a plausible excuse.
“Spill it Potter!”
Thankfully he didn’t have to make something up as they were interrupted by another person, who came rushing down the hall way.
“Severus Snape, don’t you dare leave in the middle of a conversation like that!” Remus yelled, slightly out of breath and looking angry at the potions master.
“Lupin can we discuss this later please?” Severus pleaded, gesturing to the two students standing next to him.
“Lupin?” Remus roared, with fire now blazing in his eyes, before calming down enough to turn his attention to the two boys: “Oh hi Harry, Draco. What’s this all about?” he questioned, not once looking at his lover.
Snape as stubborn as he was, said: “I was about to ask them the same question. I caught them sneaking around the corridors.”
“Let them, they’re kids. It’s not like it’s forbidden to come here, now is it?” Remus snapped.
”No of course not.” Snape replied, taken back by the anger that was still present in the werewolf’s eyes. “But I have the distinct feeling they are up to something. They are like enemies after all.”
“No we are not!” Dracon suddenly said, attracting the attention of both grownups, who gave him a surprised look.
“Say what?”
“We are not enemies.” Harry said this time.
They looked at them utterly bewildered.
“We’re friends.” Draco added.
Snape stared at them open-mouthed. “If I find out this is a joke there will be the devil to pay.”
“Maybe they are telling the truth. It’s not like it’s unheard of that in the end enemies become friends or even more.” Remus remarked, his eyebrows raised suggestively. “But on the other hand, some enemies are just destined to hate each other for the rest of their life’s.” he added, looking away in frustration.
Severus looked at him with hurt showing in his eyes. When Remus returned his gaze he was surprised to see that the Potions master looking so upset over his words. As a matter of fact he had never seen him having such a sad, heartbreaking look on his face. Lupin immediately regretted his words and quickly closed the gab between them and held him close.
“I’m so sorry Severus. I didn’t mean it that way, but you know when I get mad I sometimes can say such stupid things. Can you forgive me?” he whispered, caressing his face.
Severus gave him a watery smile. “Maybe you are right. It was foolish of us to think that this could ever work.”
“Let’s talk about this in your room okay?” Remus pleaded.
“Sure.” Severus said in a defeated tone of voice.
Draco and Harry looked at them both puzzled and relieved as Remus dragged the other man away. It was a strange sight to see the always strict and emotionless professor to be now completely upset and being comforted by the man he was supposed to hate the most.
“I wonder what’s going on between those two.” Draco mused.
“Who cares? As long as professor Lupin has a good influence on him, it’s fine with me.”

Uriël lifted his head, sniffing the air and listening hard to his surroundings.
“What’s wrong?” Legolas questioned.
“I feel a change in the air, something big is about to happen. Whether it is for the good or bad I do not know.”
Legolas closed his eyes and concentrated hard. He too felt something in the air, but it was barely visible for his Elven senses.
“So what are we going to do when we find out that Sauron is the ruler of wizarding world?” Legolas questioned.
“I think we would have noticed something by now, would that have been the case. But if the Dark Lord has succeeded in his mission we will of course turn around and hide into the forest where we will await better days.”
“NOOO, I have to get back, no matter what! I have to contact the people from my own world in order to get back. I do not care who or what I have to fight to go home.”
“That will be impossible my Elven Prince, if Sauron has taken over Hogwarts it will be nearly impossible to get inside. And even if you do manage to get in, it doesn’t guarantee that Albus’ office is still intact and you will be able to use his equipment to get back home.”
“You do not understand, I will die anyway. Either fighting the Dark Lord or from a broken heart, besides I rather die trying.”
The unicorn looked at him strangely for a moment. “I indeed sense you share a strong bond with someone, but that does not mean you cannot survive on your own.”
“But it does, I do not think I would even want to live without him.”
“Is that so? Well that is unheard of around here, but of course we do not often meet an Elf from your kind. As a matter of fact I think we have only encountered two before. The Elves here are quite different. First you have the House Elves, who are actually more slaves to wizards. Than there are the Wazaary, who live near lakes and are incredible small. Not many wizards have had the pleasure to have ever met one. And last there are the Lerendia who can be found only in very cold climates. But the magical world in this universe does not know humanoid Elves like yourself. I’m sure in return you for instance do not have vampires swooping around or werewolves going wild when the moon shows herself in all her glory.”
“I indeed did not hear of these creatures until I stepped into this world. I already have met a werewolf, but to my regret I have never seen a vampire.”
“I would not be so sure of that.” the unicorn said wistfully.
“Are you saying I have met one?” Legolas asked surprised.
“Maybe, it is not up to me to tell you his true identity. This I promised a long time ago.”
“So he attends at Hogwarts I presume?”
“Yes, he does.”
Legolas looked deep in thought for a moment, before he shrugged deciding to drop the matter for the moment. “So how long will take for us to reach Hogwarts?”
“One day less than yesterday.” The unicorn sighed irritated. “Trust me, we will not go any faster when you keep on asking about it. I will inform you when we have almost reached the outer bounds of the forest.”
The Elf grinned: “I am truly sorry, but somehow I am hoping for a miracle, which will make the days shorter and the distance we cover each day larger.” He sighed. “But alas miracles like this never happen.”
“Why do you not hop onto my back and we will gallop for at least an hour.”
Legolas smiled at him happily. “That would be great!”
*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
A few hours later they all met on the agreed time and place. Most of them were pretty excited, except Severus of course and professor Trelawney, who’s Inner Eye had told her that a great tragedy would take place tonight. Thankfully most of her predictions are false, so no one really paid any attention to her constant warnings and sad looks.
They went to the edge of the Forbidden Forest per pair, to arouse the least suspicion.
Remus of course went with Severus. Although they had talked everything over later that afternoon he still was afraid to lose Severus. They hadn’t had the time to talk as much as he would have liked, so he felt a little uncomfortable to be entering the forest without having everything cleared out.
Luckily he had made sure they were the first couple to go, so they had still a few minutes to talk.
“Sev?”
“Yes?”
“You do know that I love you right. I know that you were only worried about me this afternoon when we had that discussion in the Teacher’s Lounge, but I can look after myself. I have done so ever since I turned eleven and was allowed to go to Hogwarts. My parents only took me over the summer, because they felt it was their duty, but for the rest I always needed to look after myself. I know you are scared to lose me, as I am of losing you. But please don’t push me too much alright?” he looked at the other man questioningly, wondering what he was thinking about.
“I .. I am sorry. I indeed think I am afraid. I have never had someone whom I cared about this much, I just don’t know what to do. And I am sure that when I loose you I will loose myself as well. And this scares me.”
“You don’t have to be scared, baby. I can look after myself.” Remus pulled him into a loving hug, kissing him softly, before quickly pulling away again as the second couple started moving towards them.
“Okay team 1, which includes: Minerva, Poppy and Hermione will walk 1,5 mile to the east site along the edge of the forest. Team 2 consisting of Severus, Ron and Draco will stay right here. Aragorn, Hagrid, Flitwick and Sybille, who form the third team will go 1.5 mile west, while the fourth team which includes Remus, Harry and me will travel for 3 miles also to the west side of the forest.
Further more if you encounter any sort of danger or problems, then by all means warn the others by shooting red sparks into the air. If you manage to take care of the situation by yourselves after all then show green sparks. And last if you find Legolas then shoot blue sparks.
Now that’s all out of the way there remains me nothing but to wish you all a safe and good search. Oh and we will meet up again at this same spot at 3 o’clock.”
With that said the four teams said their goodbye’s and started walking. The second and third team making sure not to cast the spell before the other teams were almost at their positions.
Severus, Ron and Draco waited for half an hour before entering the Forbidden Forest.
Ron who didn’t feel comfortable at all kept his distance, walking a little behind the others.
“And sir, did you and Professor Lupin sort everything out?” Draco asked out of the blue.
Severus looked at him confused for a moment, before he realised what the other was talking about. “As a matter of fact we did. Not that’s any of your business.” He quickly added. “But just out of curiosity, what is going on between you and Potter? What were you two doing downstairs in the dungeons? You know I don’t like it when people come down there, especially not when they are not from my own House.”
“Well not like it’s any of your business.” Draco started, grinning at Severus, who just cocked his eyebrows in return. “We are friends… well sort of.” He whispered. “And we were looking for a place to study.” Each other bodies he added silently.
“Really? Simon told me an entirely different story.”
“Simon? Who the hell is Simon?” Draco exclaimed surprised and really worried.
“The dragon on the painting.” Severus replied with a smug look on his face.
Draco’s eyes whitened in shock, all kinds of excuses started to form inside his mind. He groaned in frustration. “You are not serious right?”
Severus just stared at him blankly.
“Besides who believes a stupid dragon called bloody Simon anyway? The creature is clearly delusional. You won’t believe the things he made up for us to do before we were allowed to enter the classroom and all we wanted to do was study. Harry even asked him nicely and he clearly recognized me. He said he thought I had a hidden agenda of some kind and would be using the classroom for all kinds of Dark stuff. He even burned my hand when I only tried to wake me up. See..” Draco said, turning his hand over and showing Snape the burn mark that was clearly visible on his pale skin. “Then he told me I had to give him the password, which I clearly told him I forgot. Then he said I needed a note from you, which is complete rubbish as we never needed one before. I think he has been too long by itself, having no one to talk to he just started to make up all kinds of crazy ideas and stories.” Draco rambled on.
Severus looked clearly unimpressed. “You know I named him Simon.”
Draco gulped. “I’m not saying it’s an ugly name..”
Severus waved his excuse away with a movement of his hands. “Draco I really am sick and tired of all your lies, I thought we were passed that. As your mentor I do like you to show me some respect and at least tell me the truth.”
Ron, who was watching the scene and conversation played before him with keen interest, edged a little forward, when he saw Draco turning crimson and at a loss for words.
“You know what sir, this is really none of your business. You don’t see me questioning you about your relationship with professor Lupin either, do you? No, so let’s give it a rest shall we. Apparently neither of us is ready for this conversation just yet.”
Severus paled a bit and looked like he was going to snap at Draco, before he sighed and briskly started to walk away, while muttering: “Well at least you’re not lying to me any longer.”
Ron couldn’t believe his ears. He truly hoped that Draco wasn’t getting at, at what he thought he was getting at. He shook his head in disbelieve before running up to the others.
