@Raevyn: I'm glad you enjoyed the last chapter! I love the Galadhrim brothers haha, they all have a very clear personality in my head. Orophin being the playful tease, Haldir being the calm, level-headed marchwarden and Rumil being sweet and innocent haha.
Chapter 28: Never, forever
The voice sent an immediate wave of panic through the Prince's body; it couldn't be. Though he tried to hide the fear he felt, it wasn't lost on the guard that had been the cause of that fear. A chuckle left Maglor, "I am glad to see you remember, I feared I had to train you all over again, but now I see there is no need. "
Legolas turned around to face his old guard, "You will find the Elf you seek is no longer present. I shall not bow to your whims and should you seek to force your desires upon me you shall find that I have become more than capable of defending myself. I shall never be yours to use again."
Another chuckle, "Ah, the delusions you have allowed yourself. To think you are in any way able to resist me. It is of no matter now, you know well enough to know I won’t suffer you making a fuss."
Maglor was on him before Legolas could think to react, pressing a damp cloth to his mouth and nose, rendering the prince unconscious in a heartbeat.
Willing or not, the prince would have no choice.
Dragging the prince along, Maglor sought out the catacombs underneath the Golden Wood.
Meanwhile, Haldir had no idea his love was in trouble as he sat with his brother.
Orophin had just told him what had happened, relating his confusion about the whole event while Haldir listened on before offering his opinion, "It sounds to me as though Elladan is unsure of you, of what you have. Though his means were stupid, hasty and childish in a way, I believe he was trying to force clarity from you. He planned to know how deep your affections ran, so that he could with all his heart tell his father of it and defend his affections for you to his brother… You know what Elrohir thinks of us. "
A frown came to Orophin's features, "You truly believe this?"
The frown deepened as Haldir nodded, "Than I have been a fool to respond as I have."
Another nod, lighter, but there, "I must speak to him. "
Haldir nodded yet again, "And you shall."
But then the horns alerted the arrival of the Rivendell party, "But not now, come, we must greet Lord Elrond and his company."
Together they moved to the clearing where Lord Celeborn had already welcomed the party.
Haldir glanced around, surprised to find Legolas not already there. He had been eager to great the Lord of Rivendell, he wouldn't likely miss the arrival.
Orophin, at the same time, moved passed many of the Galadhrim to find Elladan, "Can we talk? Soon? "
The Half-Elf nodded his agreement, but it was Elrond who spoke, "I do not see the prince of Mirkwood among you, I assume this means the exchange between him and Maglor went well? Maglor insisted on riding ahead to right his past wrongs with the prince. "
The words shook Haldir to his core, "Our guards have not alerted his coming." And Legolas wasn't there.
Fear took a hold of his heart, "We must find them. Swiftly."
/Poikaer, where are you? Legolas…? Are you well? Legolas. Do not ignore me now./
But no answer came. Whatever the cause, Legolas did not answer him and that worried the Marchwarden even more, even as Orophin assured him they would find the prince.
Where could they be? How could the guards have missed Maglor? How could it be they were lost to them now, in a city that prided itself on seeing and knowing all that went on?
Haldir's gaze shifted to Îdhion, the Galadhrim in charge while he and his brother had been detained, "You and I will have word later. How can the prince go missing under your watch? How can an intruder enter our forest? You are a disgrace to the Galadhrim reputation."
It was Orophin who shushed his brother, "Îdhion is not to blame for this Haldir, he has done the Galadhrim no dishonour and he shall help us find Legolas."
Though Haldir nodded the Marchwarden felt his heart tighten in concern, "Where can he be?"
It was ridiculous, Haldir knew the realm like the back of his hand and yet he couldn't think of a single place that Maglor might have taken his prince. Not without anyone seeing him.
It was the Lord Celeborn that offered a possible option; the catacombs. Only they had not been used in years, they could be dangerous.
Haldir didn't care, demanding to be told where to find them. He would go alone if he had to.
There wasn't a need. Many had come to care for Legolas, and many more would stand by their captain through anything.
Haldir accepted their offer to help, but made it a strict rule for none to venture forward without his approval.
He didn't know what situation they would find Legolas in, but he knew enough to fear the worst. Haldir would not be responsible for Legolas losing his dignity.
"Ahh, look who decided to join the party at long last! You know, princeling, that I hate it when you keep me waiting."
Past memories flooded Legolas' mind as he fought to open his eyes while wetting his lips.
The place was dark, void of natural light.
There was a cold that stuck to his skin, sending shivers through his body. He moved to wrap his arms around him, only to realize he couldn't.
Suddenly fully aware of the situation he looked at the bonds that held him, noted the fact he was absent clothes.
This wasn't a memory.
The encounter in the woods came back to him just as Maglor came into his line of vision, "You should have never betrayed me, princeling. I would have treated you with kindness, given you warmth and my protection… but you, you just had to ruin everything. It's not enough anymore just to have you now and then. You'll be mine, forever now. Every second of every day you shall devote to serving me. I do not intend to make it pleasant"
Legolas pulled the bonds, desperately trying to free himself from them, "Don't you see, Maglor? This is what I have always wanted. When they found out, I knew I had to find a way to make them believe it had ceased…so that…so that we could get away with it all. I have missed you"
A hand touched his cheek, almost tenderly brushing along his pale flesh. It was working, and so Legolas pressed on, "I have missed your touch upon my body…but most of all I have missed touching you, pleasing you…Will you not let me?"
It was a long shot, but he had to try. If he could get Maglor to release him, then he had a chance.
Legolas would not be a victim to Maglor. Never again.
He would find freedom and when he did, he would make sure Maglor could never pose a threat again.
His old guard would be marked forever.
