Chapter 29: Master
Finding the entrance to the catacombs had been easy. From that point on however, the real trouble started. They couldn't all go in.
Haldir couldn't be refused and though Orophin was hell-bent on going with his brother, Lord Celeborn refused it. He didn't want to let his true most trusted Galadhrim risk their lives down there.
When Elladan volunteered it seemed only 'right' for him to go, despite Lord Elrond's protest.
As the two of them went down their eyes needed a moment to adjust to the atmosphere.
Dark passageways, covered in muck. The place echoed of a darkness long forgotten.
The two walked in silence, not wanting to betray their presence.
Meanwhile, above them, Elrohir confronted Orophin, "What do you want with my brother? I see the way you look at him, he will not be a conquest for you to parade around."
Orophin's brow rose at the insinuation, before a light grin played at his lips, "I believe your brother more than capable to make his own choices on the matter. "
He paused for a moment, then went on, "Additionally, I do not think that your stupidity in turning a brief affair into a deluded eternity runs in the family, Elladan knows where he stands with me, as I do with him."
It wasn't an answer, it still told Elrohir close to nothing about what was going on, but Orophin didn't feel the urge to relate to his beloved's brother the nature of his affections.
What Elrohir thought about it was of lesser consequence, what mattered more was that Elladan knew.
He had to tell him, he would as soon as his beloved came back.
Elrohir opened his mouth to speak again, but Orophin beat him to it, "And finally, perhaps you need to talk to someone about this self-pity you feel, I am sure you will find people will be more pleasant to you once you stop destroying everyone's happiness because you cannot find your own."
Perhaps it was harsh, but it needed saying. Elrohir had to stop trying to end his brother's happiness on a whim.
Maglor looked into Legolas' eyes for the longest time as though trying to see the lie Legolas told in them. Unwavering, Legolas stared back, "Saes, Maglor, let us truly be together. Let me serve you as I should, as I want to."
With each word he uttered, Legolas could see his old guard's doubt growing, the desire to believe him growing, "Saes, Master, Heruamin."
And with that, it was done. Maglor couldn't resist him as Legolas called him his Master.
Legolas was fast approaching every desire Maglor had ever had. Acceptance, willingness, servitude.
The Elf leaned in, claiming his lips in a hard kiss that Legolas forced himself to return despite his revulsion at doing so.
Everything to fool the other.
Another kiss, to which Legolas allowed a soft forced moan to escape to urge Maglor on.
The Elf drew back, "This is all I have ever wanted, Legolas, my beautiful prince. For you to accept me, to want me as I want you. That is all."
One hand moved to release one of his, "We shall try this, then, for both our sakes it would be much more pleasant. "
Legolas nodded his agreement, pressing himself against the Elf in a show of faked desire, "Yes, please Master, let us be together. Forever. "
And with that it was done, the guard fell under the spell of the Mirkwood prince, accepting every word as truth.
Maglor's words bothered him, causing Legolas to feel pity for the man who now seemed…different.
Did he dare go through with his plan now?
As the bonds were released, Legolas kissed the man of his own accord. It was the surest way to keep Maglor believing that Legolas had truly submitted to him.
Maglor's hand trailed down his skin, caressing and playing. Legolas offered light gasps, but Maglor wasn't a complete fool, "Why aren't you swollen for me, Legolas?"
The prince could have cringed at Maglor's choice to use his name. He never had and right now, he almost wished for the guard to just call him slut or princeling again. Of course Maglor didn't excite him in any way, but, Legolas had to keep up appearances, "Do you not remember? You taught me, Master, that my pleasure should never come before your own."
Maglor seemed to consider the words, before he nodded, "We shall change that rule."
Legolas drew back, inching toward where he had seen Maglor's knives, but so as to not raise suspicion he reached his hand out to Maglor as he backed up against the wall, "Master, have you brought blankets?"
The Elf paused, shaking his head. No, Maglor hadn't considered that the Prince of Mirkwood would welcome him like this, "Here…" The Elf said, grabbing his clothes as well as Legolas', spreading their cloaks out and using the rest as pillows, "This will have to do for now, I promise I will ensure something to ensure greater comfort."
Laying down Legolas realized he was within reach of the knives now, if only he stretched out his arm it would be enough.
But then what? What would he do once he had the knives?
Maglor was on top of him within moments, pressing kisses, sucking flesh and though Legolas tried to pretend he found pleasure in it, he just couldn't.
Maglor shifted down, murmuring something about giving him pleasure this time, but Legolas didn't actually listen. Instead, while the Elf took his length into his mouth, Legolas reached up and gently took hold of the knives all the while moaning to keep the Elf from noticing the attempt.
Still his length wouldn't stiffen.
Maglor drew back, only then sensing Legolas' betrayal, but it was too late.
Legolas sat up in one swift movement, the knives crossed over the man's neck, "I shall never be yours, Maglor. Never. The very notion sickens me."
The guard stared up at Legolas, calculating his chances with a dawning sense of fear in his eyes, "I should kill you for all that you have done to me. I am certain there is not a single Elf out there now that would disapprove or judge me for it. You do not deserve to live."
But as he stood, his hands trembled and all too soon both him and Maglor knew he couldn't do it. For all the Elf had done to him, Legolas still could not bring himself to take his life.
Maglor chuckled, "Still a coward, still good for nothing, aren't you"
Legolas didn't know what to do, how to get out of the situation, "I am more than you shall ever be, for all your torment I am not broken. For all your evil, you are alone. I am loved."
The Elf shook his head, "If you are so loved, where is he now?"
As if on cue another blade came and pressed against his neck, "I am right here."
Maglor's eyes widened while Legolas stepped back, he couldn't do it, he needed the distance, the certainty he would be alright.
Elladan had, meanwhile, picked up one of the cloaks and wrapped it around Legolas before offering him the rest of his clothes.
Haldir stepped in front of Maglor, his eyes dark and unforgiving, "I warned you never to touch him again. You knew the consequence and, although Legolas hesitated, you shall find that I have no such sentiments to spare for you."
With that, he sliced open the Elf's throat, stepping back as blood sprayed from the wound and Maglor desperately tried to press his hands against it to stop the bleeding, "You shall die now, knowing you are alone and not a soul shall mourn your passing, while Legolas shall live a long life with the love he deserves."
That said, he spared the man no second glance as he turned to Legolas and wrapped his arms around his beloved, "You fought him, not through strength alone, but through wit and wisdom. I am proud of you, my love."
Legolas remained silent as he all but buried himself in Haldir's arms, "You killed him…Deserving or not, you know we cannot make such choices. You know the consequences."
Haldir nodded, but pressed a light kiss to Legolas' lips, "I know, but ensuring you are forever safe from him made it worth it. I love you, Legolas."
Legolas smiled then, nodding lightly, "I love you too and thank you, Elladan…for your help in this."
No answer came. Turning around to where Elladan had just been they realized the Half-Elf was gone, as was Maglor.
