“Legolas?”
Logan looked up into his eyes and asked, “who?”
“Legolas. We have thought you were dead. No one could find you. How is it that you are here?”
Logan realized that all the arrows were replaced into the quivers and the elves next to the golden one were watching intently. “I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. My name is Logan Green. I’m from Los Angeles. Can you tell me where that is? Cause I must have been thrown quite a ways when that car crashed into me. And here I thought I was wearing my seatbelt. Damn it, Spencer’s gonna be pissed.” He muttered that last part more to himself then to anyone else. “What’s your name?”
“I am Glorfindel of Imladris. Come, I will lead you to the city. Lord Elrond will know what has happened.” he replied. He strode forward and picked up Logan’s dagger. He studied it, then handed it to Logan, carefully by the blade.
“How do you do that without cutting yourself?” he asked surprised. He carefully returned the blade to the sheath. The two others sprung back into the trees as Glorfindel and Legolas began to make their way to the city.
“Years of practice,” Glorfindel answered.
“Oh… Last time I tried to do anything with it, I sliced open my hand. I swear. I think it hates me,” he muttered.
Glorfindel turned his gaze to him. “I do not believe that it could hate you.”
Logan grinned up at him. “That’s what they want you to think! They’re in league with the leprechauns and the spiders! I know for I have seen their plans myself!”
Glorfindel raised an eyebrow--a trait he picked up from Elrond--at him. “What is a leprechaun?”
Logan copied him and raised an eyebrow. “Why, how could you not know?” He asked innocently. “They short, small, run on rainbows, if you steal their pot of gold, your soul is pretty much cursed for eternity…ring any bells?”
Glorfindel glanced at him confused. “What bells?”
Logan sighed. “Never mind. Your hopeless,” he paused for a moment. “So… How long will it take to get to… what was it? Imladless?”
“Imladris. We should be there around nighttime if we keep this pace. We would be their sooner if we quickened our pace.” he answered.
His eyes lit up, “Is there food there? I haven’t eaten since… well, since breakfast yesterday.”
Glorfindel turned to him taken aback. “Yes, and when we get there, your going to eat first. You cannot go for so long without food. Its not healthy if it can be avoided.”
“Yeah, I know,” he replied. “Hey, why do you care now? Five minutes ago you were trying to kill me, now your trying to make sure I eat right? I’m surprised I haven’t gotten whiplash from the sudden change of heart.”
“That was before I saw who you are,” Glorfindel answered.
“And who am I?” Logan challenged.
“If I am right, you are Legolas Greenleaf, Prince of Mirkwood, son of Thranduil.”
“Prince!?” Logan gasped. “No way! I wasn’t expecting that much of my former self.”
“You do not remember.” It was a statement, rather then a question.
“Nope, not a damn thing.”
“We will need to speak with Lord Elrond of this matter. We must also contact your father to let him know you are safe and well.”
“Except for my memory,” he added under his breath.
The rest of the trip was in silence. They both had a lot to think about. Soon, the gentle laugh of the waterfalls became more prominent, and the buildings of Rivendell came into sight.
