Legolas woke to the feeling of a large hand stroking his hair. Any pain from the night before had dissipated, and a sense of new power coursed through him. He noticed the intensity of his senses first, the smells were defined, each with a new characteristic. He could hear the last embers of the night's fire sizzle as they burnt themselves out. And though muffled by the great walls, he could hear voices.
"Are you well?"
Legolas mused on the deep voice that seemed to be so much more defined now as he nodded and sat up. The blankets pooled at his waist and Draugaran stood, retrieving a chalice from the table. Legolas recoiled and the WolfKing shook his head.
"It is water."
Accepting the offer, Legolas eagerly washed the remaining taste of blood from his mouth. "What did you do to me?"
The great figure returned to his seat, "Many things. You do not look much different, and I will show you once you are certain that you will stand without faltering."
It wasn't much longer before Legolas was letting himself be led to another room, this one with a large pool. A bathing room. Draugaran motioned to the still water and Legolas curiously peered in.
Gray had been mixed with his golden hair, forming a kind of silver tint to it. His eyes had formed a steel silver colour as well, small specks of golden amber seemed to give them a light not there before. Other than that, Legolas' features had not changed. He could stilel tel the new power running through him and was momentarily mesmerized by the flow of the water and the small fish that had made it into the pool through the stream that fed it.
A deep throated chuckle drew Legolas from his reverie. "You will get used to such sights, Little Elf-Wolf."
"Elf-Wolf?"
Draugaran nodded and swiftly sat, picking up a cloth and dipping it into the water. Legolas watched the little fish scatter and pulled off his tunic at Draugaran's indication. The larger creature began to wash away the stickyness left by Legolas' sweat throughout the night, caused by the pain.
"You are no longer a full Elf. Nor are yo'Wol'Wolf' as you've called us."LegoLegolas thought for a moment, relaxing under the paternal sense he recieved from Draugaran. With a start, he realized that he had been gone from home for far too long already.
"What is it?"
"Ada, he'll be worried. I need to return tonight."
Draugaran was silent for a time, "If you so wish."
"You want me here?"
"Of course, I chose you."
Legolas sat back, letting his skin dry. Draugaran sat next to him, just as silenhe qhe quiet contemplation ended and Legolas sighed.
"I will return, I've said as much," Legolas pulled his tunic back on. "But my father must be worried, as must be my brothers."
"Of course."
