Haldir's Nightmare

Haldir and Legolas talked for many hours each pleased that thet had somone to talk to. Someone who understood what the other was going through. After four hours they received a summons to go to Thranduil's private study. They stood and proceeded to walk towards the study when Haldir felt a sense of dread hit him. He knew that somone had come for him but he didn't know who. Legolas knocked on the door and was bade to enter. He opened the door and gestured for Haldir to enter first and then he closed the door behind him. Elrond and Celeborn sat in front of Thranduil's desk and Thranduil was standing by the window behind his desk. Haldir looked down at the floor when Celeborn's gaze fell on him he felt like an elfling about to be scolded. Legolas sat down on a couch not far from where his father stood. No one said anything for a good few minutes instead they simply sat looking at each other. Finaly Celeborn spoke.

'What were you thinking Haldir?" he asked frustrated.

Haldir shrugged and fought his rising anger. wantwanted to go home."

"How could you have been so foolish?" Celeborn stood and stared at his beloved. "Didn't you realize you were placing your life and that of our child in danger? Or did it not occur to you?"

"It did not occur to me as the day was somewhat warm and clear. I didn't know a blizzard would strike." Halid defended himself.

"It is winter! Such things happen!" Celeborn shook his head in disbelief.

"Look I am sorry it happened but screaming at me isn't going to change anything! Unless it makes you feel better to make me feel worse." Haldir snapped pleased at the hurt look that crossed the elda's face.

"Nay i only wish you would think now and again! I was scared. I thought something bad had happened....." Celeborn pulled Haldir into his arms.

Haldir lay his head on Celeborn's shoulder as he embraced him. "I am sorry."

"Apology accepted. Now let us sit there is much to discuss." Celeborn sat in his chair and Haldir went to sit by Legolas.

"Legolas I am sending you to Imladris for the rest of your confinment." Thranduil said.

"What? Why?" Legolas was confused. "Are you ashamed of me?"

"Nay little one. Mirkwood is a dangerous place now. The encroaching nessness is everywhere. It is not safe here for you. Besides when the time comes you will need Glorfindel with you." Thranduil smiled at his son.

Legolas nodded. "When do I go?"

"First light." Elrond said gently. "Another storm might spring up and we must get back as soon as possible."

Celeborn looked at Haldir and Haldir knew what was coming.

"You want me to stay in Imladris as well correct?" Haldir asked before anything could be said.

Celeborn nodded. "Mirkwood is not the only forest to be plagued with Orcs. Besides it would give you and Legolas understanding company."

Haldir nodded but he did not look pleased. Soon after Legolas rose to pack and Haldir followed him after they swore to be at dinner on time. The night passed quickly and in the morning they departed for Imladris.

Glorfindel was in his study when word of approaching riders came to his attention. He went out ot greet the riders and saw Legolas among them he was also pleased that Haldir was back unharmed. Elrond saw something was bothering Glorfindel and he asked what was wrong.

"A missive came from Lorien last night and Lady Galadriel and her sons left." Glorfindel reported duitifuly.

Elrond nodded and looked over at Celeborn. Celeborn looked undecided and Haldri took pity on him.

"You should return also m'lord. Lorien needs her Lord." Haldir stated clearly. *More so then I* he thought sadly,

Celeborn nodded and kissed Haldir before turning his horse and leaving for Lorien. Elrond asked for Glrofindel to join them in the study and he nodded. legolas knew the time had come and he was scared. What would Glorfindel think? What would he say? Without thinking Legolas grabbed Haldir's hand for support as they walked. Glorfindel noticed this but remained silent. When they were all seated Elrond turned to Legolas and nodded. Legolas turned to Glrofindel and sighed.

"Mellamin.....I love you veey much but I have been keeping a secret....I....I am pregnant....." Legolas trailed off and waited for Glorfindel's reaction.
