I swear I will cry when you finally finish this. Because you make me think of all the potentional orc!slash this fandom could be having yet doesn't. It's crushing. I'll just keep rereading this I suppose. Or God-forbid, write my own D=

Aiiieeee!! Dreams DO come true! Not only the possible reconciliation of Shagrat and Faramir, but you've added another great chapter to your epic story! :D I have been checking your AFF page every few weeks or so (at least) without fail. It took me a few days to get around to writing this review, because first I wanted to re-immerse myself in the story and re-read the previous chapters. Ugggh, all your hard work and brilliant writing/plotting, and this is turning into another OMG SQUEE I'M A HUGE FAN AND I LOOOOVE YOUUUUUUU review... but I can't help it!! I read the LOTR books many years ago, as a child of 12, and I honestly didn't care for them very much. It took the Peter Jackson movies to turn me on to the most likable and interesting characters of the Middle Earth world -- Orcs, of course! The way you've captured the spirit and feeling of the BEST parts of the Jackson movies is enchanting: it's like a whole new bonus movie, with no stupid Legolas and @#$% Aragorn! tl;dr: You are a shining star amongst fanfic writers, and I CAN'T WAIT for the next chapter(s)! As much as I want to see Shagrat and Faramir making lovey-dovey, I can only hope that it will take a long story arc to let them live happily ever after.

I just realized that I've been checking this story just about daily for updates... for over a year now.

Are you ever going to update it again?

I never reviewed your 18th chapter - or your other fic, "The Two Captains," which I need to rectify - but I *have* pimped your writing around. Also, I found the artwork that Smirra did for your story at faramirfiction.com:

    http://www.faramirfiction.com/Fiction/captain-of-mordor

I thought those were awfully fine, particularly her colored and uncolored versions of "Not Wholly Unpleasant."

Also, I happened to be on Henneth Annun and saw that "Captain of Mordor" is listed there but not your other stories. I hope you will consider putting them up, at least "Nazgul's Prey" and "The Two Captains." If you put up "Orc in Ithilien" you may find that the story's incompletion is held against it. They accepted my story "Orc-brat" but very warily, with I think three people saying "nay" because of the story's incompletion. Something that I took away from the experience was, if you submit an incomplete piece, include all of the chapters completed thus far. (I had only submitted chapters 1-5, thinking that this would be kinder to the reviewers than making them read the whole thing.)

Re: Chapter 18, I like the chapter and the events unfolding in it but think that it is actually a chapter and a half because it begins and ends in such very different places. Great content though. I'm curious, at the end, if the other Orcs have already left by that time or if they are still at the camp while practicalities are hashed out. And sweet Valar! That's - by giving them that mithril-rich land-holding, they are making those Orcs one fierce economic force in the region, so I'm curious about what will come of that. 8) Some wonderful humor, as ever, with the other Orcs and with Ludlow.

(Ok, so, fourth time submitting, and every time the review comes out all garbled and not all there, I may have to just leave it this time if I want you to get any sort of review x__x I'm hoping it will miraculously work this time!)

I don't really review very much at all nowadays, lazy soul that I am. But this is one of those special exceptions because well... this is just so good.
I wouldn't normally go in for this sort of thing, but I'm willing to try anything once when it comes to fanfiction xD My interest was piqued by the thought of an Orc and human together - having never read anything along those lines before - and so, here I am.
Ordinairily, I might have shied away from this once I'd seen what it was all about, but well, it was so well written I found myself inexcplicably glued to my screen xD And, I'm quite amazed to say, that I've fallen in love with Shagrat (if that isn't the mark of an amazing author, I don't know what is xD), I love his character so much ;_ ; I actually told a friend this, because I couldn't keep it to myself, and she was - understandably I think - quite horrified with the idea of falling in love with an Orc xD But I feel sure that if she only read it that she would come round! I mean, it's Shagrat xD

I've been following all of your stories for quite a while, and I'm rather ashamed I haven't commented yet. I really do love this whole story and the others in the series- It's something that I've never seen before, and pulled off amazingly well, including this past chapter. Although, the bit with the orcs about cooking threw me off a little- it suddenly became quite a lot like reading a Discworld novel for a few paragraphs.

I really enjoy reading your work, and I look forward to whatever comes next!

Lost all my bookmarks trying to shift them about to another computer and unfortunately lost track of your stories. Imagine my excitement when I discovered an update to this one! :D I'd like to give Faramir a good boot, but as usual I really enjoyed this chapter. I really like how you write your Orcs' dialogue. The bit where Maz is talking about cooking amused me greatly. :P Anyway, I really look forward to seeing more of this soon! Thanks for sharing it with everyone! :)

Oh! You have no idea how much I absolutely love this story. And the previous two that go with it. And your other stories posted here. I just read the whole thing all in one sitting today, and now I'm wondering if there's any chance it'll be updated again soon? Please, don't leave me hanging! You definitely rank up there in my top five favorite fanfic authors! :D

Ludlow is having quite the adventure isn't he? Good for Shagrat telling Faramir off so well; those were some home truths that needed to be stated and about time too. Eowyn is a pill; an aggrieved pill but a pill nonetheless, if I were Faramir I'd not see much difference between my wife and an Uruk. Afterall, one's unpleasant on the outside but the other is just as unpleansant on the inside. I think Eowyn would make a very ugly Uruk. Hope to see more soon.
