    Chapter 28
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to mislabel the chapter numbers.
You do description better than anyone I have ever read. You use lots of adverbs and adjectives but they flow so nicely I just admire the effect.
I can tell already I am going to love this chapter. It isn't only nature you describe well. You do body parts good to. Smirk.
Legolas trained to seek pleasure in pain. It certainly seems like it. He seems to concentrate on his partners needs and pleasure and take what is given to him not matter how little or how painful.
Oh dear. Nothing ever goes smoothly for Legolas does it? Now we have him guilt ridden because he fears he has become who he despises the most. So the dagger that he insisted on taking back is now too much of a reminder of his torment and he even considers the whip for a punishment. He needs to get out of this forest and get a better perspective on things.
Erestor chooses not to know what is bothering Legolas and giving him a breakdown. He realizes it must be profound and painful.
I liked the phrase about Legolas' suppressed power and his overt vulnerability.
So Erestor gets his wish and his experience and Legolas is going to get some real loving for a change. That was great. "What's the hurry? We have all eternity." "Too much speech. Let me demonstrate the depth of my dissent." That was just great. giggle

    Chapter 27
Erestor is right. They have both gone beyond the limits of forgiveness. Amen to that thought.
Erestor still being testy about being called a quisling and why not! So now Elrond sees with different eyes the strength and presence Legolass possesses. Full of unspoken regret and withheld trust. I love that.
Back to the old arguments, anger and frustration. Get over it Elrond.
Oh Legolas such a forthright, honorable, upright elf, especially compared with Elrond and Erestor. Even Elrond is taken back by his capabilities, his genuineness.
OK Now we get to the big News Flash!! The Ring of Power is in Thranduil's Vaults.
Well we know it isn't but is sounds feasible. He has tons of stuff down there. He has things from Aman. I am impressed.
You write of the inevitablity of the joining of these two, Elrond and Legolas, and Erestor feeling it would lead to no good. You also called them lovers which is a stretch considering all that has taken place so far. I am interested in where we are going here.
Legolas is right here. If Thranduil had the ring he would have used it and since he knows the provenance of every item he would know if the ring was there or not. Sad to think that Legolas knows his father values these inanimate things far more than the king ever valued him. But of course that isn't the point. If Sauron even thinks that Thranduil possesses the ring the Woodland Realm is in real trouble.
So Legolas gets to go to the glade for solace and he needs a break here. Erestor needs a little solace too. Nice little hidy hole, or hsould we call it a love nest.
Ah Legolas is in a ful ful mood. Kind of scary to see his sense of humor.
A great exposition chapter and presented beautifully. Not too boring at all. Really upped the suspense level and set up for the future. giggle

    Chapter 26
Radagast demanding a meeting with the Noldor and Elrond wiggling out of it. Why do I get the feeling he does this whenever he can?
Erestor is one horny elf here. I would like for Legolas to have a nice, warm, loving coupling for a change. Not one that is one sided for his partner alone.
My Radagast got hot under the collar, so to speak, didn't he and with good cause. Elrond's quite certain that Legolas is not his son but he cant be totally sure. When Radagast lays Elrond's rionsionship to Legolas all out we see that Elrond has sunk to a new low. How low can he go? Sorry the limbo just took over. Yes Legolas would be shattered by this news. So Elrond gets out of a mess again. He's needed as a healer so Radagast won't hurt Legolas by telling him this news. But he knows Legolas will have to be told someday.
The barrier of protection, like the Girdle of Melian, was a nice touch.
Erestor pondering mortality and the fate of man. What a struggle and for what? He can't figure it out and all Radt wit will say is "It is the way of things." Nice to be so certain.
So light has finally dawned on Elrond. He has had a lot of time to think in the dark watches of the night and now sees that Legolas is worthy of respect and deserving of being loved. So far no one seems to be too willing to carry this out. Elrond has cooked his own goose in this little fiasco. If he could bring Legolas some measure of happiness I could forgive him for causing so much pain. But I just don't think there is any way he could do this. Legolas is TawarWaith and has to stay in Mirkwood while Elrond has to be in Imladirs. He can only destroy what little of the prince's est esteem is left. You've got them in a real Catch-22 here.
I loved the relationship between the young girls and Legolas. He has no sexual feelings for them and they can use him like a doll baby to care for, clothe and tease. And old goat Erestor notices this too.
So Erestor has a secret to share about the RING. Can't wait to hear this one. giggle

    Chapter 25
Just when I think I can see where this is all going you throw us a curve. This is a mark of great storytelling.
I'm glad there is a place that he can rest and not be all keyed up all the time. If not he would have really gone insane by now. This place sounds like a little bit of silvan paradise.
I wonder if the forest told Radagast where Legolas was, how badly he was hurt and what fungus would heal him? Nice touch to bring this up but not answer it.
I liked Radagast thinking about vain glorious Vala. Oh my. I like his take on the elven rings of power. In their own way the elves are as disruptive of the song as Sauron is. Rather than live in the song the elves sought to stop the changes the song had to make or at least slow those changes. I think the elves were in many ways pulled off the true course by Morgoth as much as the Second Born ever was by Sauron.
So of course Radagast and Legolas would become close friends. They have the same focus. I am glad Legolas has an ally in the fight he has set up to save the forest from the orcs, Nazgul and their dark master. Radagast can see Legolas as few others can.
Sick and tired of the Noldor and their petty demands. They do not show anything much in common with Legolas except their pointed ears so far.
Radagast is gobsmacked now seeing Elrond and Erestor. The two think it will really hit the fan now. Oh goody.
Elrond is a real piece of work isn't he? He denigrates Radagast for his lack of use to Imladris. Yet admits he may have hurt Legolas because of his petty reaction to Ninglorien leaving him. He doesn't want to admit he might have cared a little for her. I doubt that though. Both the Lord and the Queen have demonstratncrencredible selfish, ego centered, miserable excuses for elves attitudes.
So now we get a heartfelt apology from Erestor, the real Erestor. That is a good start anyway.
Elrond blames Legolas for coming between Erestor and his duties to his Lord. Wow. What a selfish, conniving idiot. So far he has led himself into this huge messy endeavor.
Good Radagast knows that whatever is bothering Legolas has been done by these two. They have hurt the forest champion and the wizard doesn't like it. He may not be the most powerful wizard but you never want to get on any wizards bad side. You could be in a world of hurt.
I loved this. Elrond is 'surprised' that Legolas felt he had to beg for help for the human villagers. Then has the gall to ask what sort of character does Legolas thinkond ond possesses. Wow. What incredible denial here. If you listed his lies, deceits, trickery, pain and humiliation he has inflicted on Legolas no jury would convict the prince for killing him. Sheesh. Do you think owning Vilya has softened the Lord's brain any?
Poor villagers. Poor trees. So much suffering. Of course Legolas feels guilt now to add to his pain, sorrow and fear. He feels his confronting the dark Lord is what has brought this on all of them.
Nice meeting between the children and Legolas. Then the Vil Eld Elder once having been once of those children and now far older than Legolas appears to be. That imortal and mortal thing is so hard to get your head around.
Great angsty chapter. Good to see Radagast. giggle

    Chapter 24
I am so screwing up the chapters here.
This was an exciting chapter. He bested the Nazgul and Sauron caused an earthquake. Wow. He even impressed the haughty Noldor.
But he got poisoned by the orcs. I liked it when he acted drunk and passed out. Also when he wouldn't "go" in front of the spies. He sounds like a petulant child.
So Erestor watched him bathe and eat while he was naked. I must admit I would have done the same thing given the chance.
I was so glad when he kicked Elrond. He may be an outcast and have problems with self esteem but he isn't a bug to be squished by these two.
As far as acting like an adult, I will listen to Elrond when he stops acting like a pig. They realize quickly enough that they must make nice with Legolas or he could lead them into orcs, orc traps or even the Nazgul. Don't make him angry, you won't like it when he gets angry. giggle

    Chapter 22
Not much to say about his chapter except why don't we all get together and beat Elrond senseless. Sounds good to me. Here he has a really sweet, gentle, kind elf who wants to reach out and care for Elrond's loss and pain and what does he get? A hissy fit from the Lord High and Mighty.
The elves are disgustingly proud sometimes and this has led to many bad things, like kinslaying, rape, torture and the destroying of whole cultures. I think Elrond just may have a touch too much of this pride. He may think himself so noble but his ignobility is breathtaking here. Not even Celebrian wouldp hip him deal with his pain but when he finds someone to help him he has to debase that one. Squicky.
So more pain, sorrow and fear for TawarWaith. He's beginning to feel something is wrong with him not with all these others who use and debase him. I know people who always choose the lousiest people to be with. Maybe he needs some therapy.
The nobility meter is in the minus for Elrond right now. giggle

    Chapter 22
Summary - Do they have anything in common. I would say a resounding no at this point.
The linkage to Tawar and the wood elves was just beautiful. I love the world you have created here. That was a lovely explanation of Legolas' being known to Tawar even before his birth. That Yavanna and Manwe deemed him to be TawarWaith. Being separate from all other elves by nature and nurture.
I thought Elrond g thr through Legolas' things was really tacky but then he is a Noldo spy despite his nobility and they have to do things like that.
No Legolas you shouldn't have given yourself to a Noldo spy but it has been seventeen years and you need to give yourself a break here. After all he did seduce you, with your approval of course.
So the scales have fallen from his eyes. Both Naneth and Malthen want him dead. They never loved him, just used him. More pain, sorrow and fear for himf hef he thought he was alone and bereft before what must he feel now.
Elrond lost. Good I hope he falls and breaks every bone in his body. Rats he figured oherehere Legolas is. At least he took food. His plans would fail if Legolas were to die.
As far as Elrond as a healer using his skills to harm what else is new here. Must not have a Hippocratic Oath in Middle Earth.
Ningloriel never really speaking of Legolas, and he never though of Legolas as real. Just something to manipulate. Well get in line Ed, td, this is how most elves seem to view him.
Now at the very end we have the commonalities. They both lost their first greagreat loves, lost their parents, as if Legolas ever had his, both were fostered out. After all these centuries the noble Lord of Imladris has found someone who understands. Sigh. This can't last.
This was a really great chapter. Moving the story along and revealing more of each character. giggle

    Chapter 21
I hate humidity and sticky heat. I am sure Imladris doesn't have to suffer this kind of weather. That means that Elrond and Erestor are truly suffering. Good, I think they deserve to suffer.
Elrond is going ahead with his plan of revenge. Sigh.
Poor fragile Legolas. Erestor has a conscience. Good, let it ache like a bad tooth. Even he believes that Legolas might be Elrond's son and yet he didn't object to Elrond having sex with him.
So Legolas keeps a note. I doubt it is from his mother. She probably neveok tok the time to write him anything. I need to remember this for the future. I have learned that it might take you a lot of chapters to reveal something in particular but reveal it you do. It was sweet of Erestor to care about Legolas' privacy considering he takes every opportunity to paw him. A little late and not nearly enough but care he do
    I w
I would like to see Erestor's picture also. Sounds delectable. Ah the hair bracelet, footlet, whatever. This definitely needs to be remembered for the future. Then Erestor sees the blood. I don't buy Elrond's story one little bit. He could have taught Legolas true, warm, gentle coupling but no he got a chance to fulfill some of his more base and darker desires and he took full advantage. I think Elrond has perfected the art of blaming others for his actions. You can't learn this too early.
Legolas, full of pain, fear and sorrow. Now even more because of Elrond's comment. None want me dead, but poor elf he is in such denial here. There are quite a few who want him dead but not Mithrandir. So now he has more pain, sorrow and fear. Rotten Elrond.
Maybe Erestor knows more that he realizes. Now that Elrond has joined with Legolas Tawar may indeed be watching him very carefully.
I enjoyed Erestor's mulling things over very much. Nice to see the differing personalities, wants, desires of both elves revealed even more. giggle

    Chapter 20
Now we have the real Erestor, he is not in a very good mood and who can blame him. Lousy weather, all alone, no chance with Legolas now that Elrond has taken over and got his mitts all over the fallen prince. To add insult to injury he has to listen while Legolas calls out his name in release and he doesn't even get to watch.
waysways like the forest and wood elves being in sync so your scene about the forest being glad that Legolas got some relief was a nice touch with Erestor getting a glimpse of Elrond and Legolas after the fact. At least he feels a little better now.
So Elrond brought gifts to Legolas. I wonder where that mithril ring was supposed to go? HMMM.
Elrond doesn't trEresErestor to keep his mouth shut. What an insult.
But now we get the truth. Elrond wants revenge on Thranduil through Legolas. This won't hurt Thranduil, only Legolas. He's got this celibacy thing still going on as far as I can remember. This is probably why Elrond put up with Ninglorien all these years. By having her spy on the king he got back at Thranduil. My he's going down on the nobility meter very fast here.
This was a nice telling chapter. The plot revs up a little here. giggle

    Chapter 19
I shouldn't do this so late at night. I seem to hit all the wrong buttons. If I knew how toete ete I would.
When I read the chapter title and summary it started getting really warm in here.
So they will have a truce for now. But not for long, just until Legolas learns the whole truth. "Erestor" has no idea why Legolas is full of contradictions about his sexuality. He has yet to have one loving relationship that has any meaning for him.
Not sure if he wants "Erestor" to see him in desire. Well we do. We want to see both of them in want and release and fulfillment and totally naked in the rain, dripping wet.
Seventeen years is a long time to wait for satisfaction.
Poor Legolas, "Erestor" can tell he's been so abused in every way and he is so afraid he won't be adequate. He also seems to have a masochistic leaning here. He has to be hurt when taken to get the full impact of release.
What a lovely erotic chapter. This makes up for lots of foreplay. Now I need a cold shower. giggle

    Chapter 18
Your summary was great. Half elven, half lies.
Rain in the woods with no shelter. Not a good thing. I think things and elves are going to get crabby.
Now Legolas is alone with an elf who has a really complicated agenda. Not good for TawarWaith. H is using the best butter I see. Poor Legolas doesn't stand a chance against his blandishments.
I am Erestor. Another lie. Erestor is not a healer.
Legolas is so noble. He will never be a traitor to his Tawar. Unfortunately "Erestor" is not a noble elf, at least in your story so miscommunication would be inevitable.
So he thinks Legolas is dangerous. He may still underestimating him. giggle

    Chapter 17
Just the title of this chapter got me really interested. Big smile here.
Five years so close to Dol Guldur. It's amazing he is still sane. Maybe he isn't? So the orcs are smarter, is that an oxymoron, traitraiths are after him and some of the trees have turned against him. Not a pleasure trip at all for Legolas. It is very scary to think of what the Shadow does. They want to catch him and take him to Dol Guldur to their dungeons. Not good.
So he was on his way home to fulfill his ly tly thing and then had to rescue H & R from certain capture by bad guys. Then R disses the forest. Not a good idea at all and he learned. I liked the comment that Tawar doesn't serve Legolas he serves Tawar. And he tries to protect the trees even more by disposing of the orc bodies. I hope that will work.
Now we are on a road trip with two disgruntled and not very truthful elves. At least Legolas has them somewhat figured out and they have to make new plans, figure out new plausible lies to tell. He is pretty good at seeing through elves so we will see how good these new plans work out.
Well I don't know anyone who could keep their hands off the elf so I won't chastise R too much. At least we got a really erotic scene out of the deal. And R got a very sore stomach but it was almost worth it. If they had coninued to the end it would have been worth it. Now it is H's turn. If they had his best interests at heart that would be nice but they don't. Run, Legolas, run. giggle

Wow sealmoalmost inappropriate, and too weak, but I can't think of anything better at the moment. I think this is probably the best LOTR fanfiction I've ever read. Your descriptions are breathtaking and the storyline is heartrending. I am really impressed with how you've kept Legolas as a strong character intead of making his turn all weak and weepy like so many stories do. He has severe emotional pain, and it shows, but he's still tries to be strong and caring. This story makes me feel so much, it goes beyong stomach-clentching to rake at my heart. My favorite part was the realization that he so hates to cause discomfort to others, he will leave, or even suffer pain himself to keep others from hurting because of him. I find myself relating to him on so many levels. I also really enjoyed your lovely descriptions of the forest, and all its life. I feel like I am actually there with the trees and the wildlife.
You are an absolutely fantastic writer! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Please, sir, I want some more?

So Legolas has moved closer to Dol Guldur. What a Task he has set before him with that move.
The description of Legolas, half naked, hair all mussed, piercing blue eyes. Is it getting warm in here or is it just me?
That was a great shot for Legolas. Got his boot and missed his toes. He is getting lots of practice out there so close to evil.
I liked how the forest stills when Legolas gets upset. They are in such harmony now. And the elves H & R (sounds like H & R Block, they do taxes) shouldn't underestimate this feral elf. He has the moves.
They've found the orcs they were looking for. I am sure that they two of them were going to do so much damage. I would be amused by them also. Now we have a Wraith. In the books the Wraiths weren't worth much. They really couldn't do anything but scare people and force the orcs to fight. They were almost amusing sometimes. Fanfiction makes them much more scary.
So did TawarWaith give them a vision of the flet or does the forest guide them? I will have to remember this.
I don't blame the two for having libidinous feelings toward TawarWaith. Don't we all? Lonely, yes he would be and don't you take advantage of that. one one ever listens to me.
Now the forest makes a path. I wonder if the forest just does what the TawarWaith needs to have done. I like thinking about things like this.
I thought how you portrayed the battle from H & R's point of view was really good. They can just huddle in the rain and listen to what is going on and make good guesses but that is about it. Then the woods become more and more silent. That would be y toy to have to listen to.
No elven army caused all this damage. Nope just our handy dandy, highly motivated TawarWaith elf. Just think he has had to build more traps and flets and get all set up here in the south now. Far away from his home and Fearfaron. Lonely probably doesn't even begin to touch how he feels.
Here we have the two "see" Legolas. The forest must be doing this. It may be sorry and want to dump these two soon.
Well we got one pooped out elf on a flet. His poor scarred body. Sigh. I wonder how many decades it would take for those scars to disappear? The comment on his chest scar was sad. It had physically healed but his sould still bleeds. H being able to count and date the scars was interesting.
We got two horny old elves here and I liked that Legolas knew exactly what they were saying. Now we can add a third horny young elf. Good things are heating up. After seventeen years this celibacy stuff has to go. Legolas will go blind.
So glad that Legolas has them pretty well figured out. This is were I had them figured out also. He may not want to play but they have other ideas. He is such a sharp cookie and clever as all get out.
This was a very exciting and fast moving chapter. giggle
