Thanks Agie! Any other mistakes are my own.
A/N: *Emphasis*, (Thoughts)
This story has been floating around in my mind and demanded to be written.
It features a darker Elladan than we are used to and a young vulnerable Legolas.
For the purpose of this story, I have decided (with some advice from the great
and wonderful Min.) that the age of majority for an elf is 500 years. Legolas
will reach his majority during the year of their betrothal. NO underage sex!!!
NO non-con and NO rape!!!
Feedback: Would be wonderful and makes me type faster!
Summary: Elladan and Legolas call a truce, at least for the moment.
Elrohir quizzes Elladan on the reason Legolas fled the dining hall. Bargon and
Maethoron prepare for the trip back to Taur-nu-Fuin.Chapter Nine
After finally convincing Bargon and Maethoron he did not need to see a
healer, Legolas started for the training grounds. His stomach was turning flip
flops as he thought about being alone with Elladan again. The memory of their
shared kiss was still on his mind, and he wasn’t sure how to feel about it.
One moment he felt like he was walking on air, and the next he felt like he was
going to vomit because the thought of kissing that elf disgusted him. Either
way, his lips still tingled every time he thought of the elf warrior.
When he arrived at the field, Elladan was there waiting and Legolas frowned.
He was late and the prince was sure the elf warrior would punish him and swiftly
at that.“Don’t frown so,” Elladan said less harshly than normal. “How can I
punish you after what you did at the noon meal? You saved me from…”Legolas held his hand up and shook his head. “I didn’t do it for you,”
he said, interrupting Elladan. “I do not want anyone to think I would do such
a thing before my majority.”Elladan looked at the ground and nodded his head. “Well, thank you for
saying what you did, for whatever reason. Shall we get started?”“Aye, but do you think you could show me the moves you taught me yesterday?”
Legolas asked as he picked up the sword Elladan had chosen for him the day
before. “With everything that happened since then, I am afraid I have
forgotten a few of them.”“You performed them flawlessly yesterday, but I can show you them again.”
Elladan agreed with a slight grin on his face. “I promise not to attack you as
if you were an experienced swordsman this time.”Legolas couldn’t help grinning back and said, “And I promise not to punch
you in the jaw.”Elladan’s hand went to his jaw and he nodded with a grin. “Deal. Now hold
your sword this way and….”~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Elrohir watched Elladan and Legolas finish training before approaching his
twin. “Elladan, we need to talk.”“Can you at least wait until I wash up, or will Imladris fall to the ground
if you don’t talk to me right this minute?” Elladan asked in his usual
hateful manner.“You can wash up, but I will not let you get away without answering my
questions,” Elrohir replied ignoring his twin’s mood, as was his wont.“Questions about what?” Elladan asked as they made their way to his room.“About why Legolas left the table in such a hurry at the noon meal,”
Elrohir replied. “And why did he glare at you after I asked him if the cat had
his tongue?”Elladan sighed and stopped in front of his door. “Really Elrohir, I have no
idea why the prince left in such a hurry. As for the glaring, he glares at me
all the time, and I him. We dislike one another. Is that apparent to everyone
but you?”“Do I have to remind you that we are twins and I know you better than
anyone?” Elrohir asked as he followed Elladan into his room and sat on his
bed. “This bed is soaked! Why is the bed wet?”“Because there was water poured on it,” Elladan said as he washed up, but
offered no further explanation.“I am not dense brother,” Elrohir replied sarcastically. “Why was there
water poured on your bed?”Elladan dried his face and hands before turning to face Elrohir once again.
“Because I was late getting to the stables and Legolas splashed cold water all
over me to get me up. Satisfied?”Elrohir laughed out loud and Elladan glared at him. “I didn’t know the
young prince had it in him. I assume you got out of bed then, didn’t you?”“What do you think?” Elladan snapped, growing weary of the whole
conversation. He started pulling the mattress off the bed to take it out on the
balcony to dry. “Of course I got up.”Elrohir helped his brother, but his laughter made it difficult. “You may
have met your match, Elladan. The prince certainly didn’t hesitate to punch
you when he had had enough of your attitude.”“Unless you would like a black eye and split lip to match his, I suggest
you shut up,” Elladan growled. “He is still just a spoiled woodland prince,
and I am just doing my duty as the Valar decreed.”“Where are you going to sleep tonight?” Elrohir asked as they returned to
the bedroom.“I will sleep in the room that is to be the prince’s when we are bound,”
Elladan replied calmly as he sat in one of the chairs by the fireplace.“Something happened this morning, didn’t it?” Elrohir asked in all
seriousness as he leaned forward in the chair. “Legolas is no more injured
than he was yesterday, so you did not hit him. What happened, Elladan?”“Elrohir,” Elladan said, warning his brother that he was going too far.“Elladan,” Elrohir answered letting his twin know he didn’t care.“When I was finally dry and dressed, I left swearing that brat would pay
for drenching me with cold water,” Elladan began with a sigh. “I got to the
stables and he was standing there waiting for me to do something. I took a step
towards him and he turned to run, but the doors were closed. The only thing he
could do was climb the ladder to the hayloft.”“He was trapped up there! Elladan, what did you do?” Elrohir asked
growing worried.“Aye, he was trapped and he tried to rush me, but all that did was make us
fall. We ended up struggling and he was underneath me.” Elladan looked at
Elrohir with regret filled eyes. “His struggling aroused me, and I did kiss
him. Legolas returned the kiss, though.”“Sweet Eru, Elladan,” Elrohir said wondering what else Elladan would tell
him. “If anyone found out you could…”“Don’t remind me,” Elladan sighed. “He pushed me off of him and I let
him go. If Legolas hadn’t come back to the table, I can only imagine what
father would have done.”“I would be more worried about what Bargon and Maethoron would have done to
you,” Elrohir replied. “I almost got you in very deep trouble with my jest.
Forgive me, brother.”“It it over, Elrohir. No harm was done,” Elladan assured him.“Promise me you won’t do something like this again - at least until he
reaches his majority. Elladan, you must promise me,” Elrohir pleaded.“Nothing else will happen, Elrohir,” Elladan promised solemnly. “I do
not even like the wood elf. I just had a momentary lapse of judgment. It won’t
happen again, no matter how beautiful he grows to be.”~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~Legolas sat on the sofa in the suite Bargon and Maethoron shared, and watched
them prepare for their journey home to Taur-nu-Fuin. They would be leaving him
in the morning and he wondered what he would do without them.Bargon sat down beside him and placed an arm around his shoulder. “You will
be fine pen-neth. Lord Elrond and the Lady Celebrian will see that you are well
taken care of. Remember it will not be that long until your begetting day, and
your father will be traveling here to celebrate it with you.”“I only wish that you and Maethoron could stay a little longer,” Legolas
replied dejectedly. “I will miss you terribly.”“It will not be so bad Legolas,” Maethoron said as he knelt down in front
of the prince. “You have started your training with Elladan and everything
will work out fine. You and Prince Elladan will get to know one another and find
out you have all sorts of things in common.”“We already have one thing in common,” Legolas replied as he looked at
the captain sadly. “We hate one another. That we can agree on.”“It will get better, my Prince,” Bargon promised sincerely. “Mithrandir
should be arriving within the week to see how you are doing. You can look
forward to that. And I am sure that Erestor will be glad to help you with any
problems you have between now and the arrival of the Istar.”“It is late, ernilen,” Maethoron pointed out. “You should retire so
that you may be able to work in the stables in the morning. You do not wish to
be late and incur Elladan’s wrath, do you?”“Nay,” Legolas said standing. “I will see you in the courtyard in the
morning before you go.”“Sleep well, ernilen.” Bargon replied before Legolas left the suite. As Legolas walked to his room he couldn’t help feeling depressed at being
left in Imladris without anyone from Taur-nu-Fuin to keep him company. Perhaps
if he tried harder he could get Elladan to like him, or at least give him a
chance to prove he wasn’t like the wood elf he knew in his youth. The thoughts
of Elladan brought back the memory of the kiss they shared, and Legolas brought
his hand to his lips, trying to stop them from tingling.
