LOL, Beth, you funny thing. ;) I want to answer all your questions right now, really I do...but...you know the way of keeping people on their toes. ;) Thanks! I'm glad you're liking this and I'm very glad you're not sure what's going on. It seems sometimes transparent to me, but I guess it would since I know what I'm writing (some of the time). ;) Thanks!

Whoever writes the plot bunny first... *cackles evilly, then dissolves into a fit of coughing* Damn it. Evil is just no fun with phlegm.

(I don't really have phlegm. I just like writing "phlegm." My neck was frozen in place for two days, though. I writhed and moaned on the floor of my bathroom, crying, "I have tetanus! I'm going to DIIIEEE!" It was so hilarious. ...Or it will be.

A very long time from now.

    I knew it. XD

Wow, that was good. Denethor caressing her cheek and then dropping away from her to let the MoS feast on her flesh, so to speak. And then Faramir being almost nice to Alura was, in a way, worse than when he actually raped her (either time). Like he was content/happy, secure in his knowledge that he would have what he wanted, snuggling up to Alura as if she was his property. Boy, would I kick him in the nuts and head for the hills as soon as I recovered.

Why Denethor would want Faramir to marry Alura still puzzles me, though. I suppose to cement the already formed allieance beween Rohan and Gondor, just in case Eowyn dies, but he would have more of a claim in Eowyn lived. And that would be severely undermined by Eomer's death. So my mind keeps running around in circles. Hee.

This is like Possession in that it's so addicting. I'm keen on a pitched battle of wits and an eventual happy ending (or at least, semi-happy), myself, but it's your story. :)

Faramir puzzles me most of all. Was he simply putting on an act to lure Alura (no pun intended) into falling for him and simply became cruel when he discovered she liked Boromir? Was he completely evil from the start and simply lost his patience when he found out? Or was he corrupted by Sauron's forces simultaneously with his discovery that Alura did not love him? Did he see her screwing Boromir? So many questions!

Is there a cure for Alura's infection, or does the Mos need to be defeated before her impending death can be lifted?

I don't know why I'm so inquisitive tonight. Probably just sick of being ill with the flu. Blaaaargh.

*stumbles into view straightening clothes* Oh, hi! Wow, Elven, you’ve been a very busy girl while I’ve been … away. Faramir just keeps getting darker and darker. Looks like Eomer has joined the party, too. I love your evil Denethor. Just what IS the evil at the top of the stairs? (Its okay, Sandra, my first thought was a vampire, too) Is “it” the reason Faramir & Eomer are behaving so “wonky?” I, too, really like the fact that you keep us guessing. :D

BTW, Boromir and I had out little *clears throat* “chat” and I gave him a piece of my mind, believe me, he’ll -- *Boromir walks up to Freya, and hands her Wee Willie* You forgot this when you rushed out this morning. Oh, and your blouse is on backwards. *B bows to the ladies, takes Freya by the hand and leads her away*

    @ SV: LOL!

Well, I suppose it could be Thur********* or one of her minions (MY PLOT! MY PLOT!....*ahem* XD), but having rewatched RotK recently, the only being that comes to mind as being dark, "too tall to be human" and with its face obscured in shadow that has bloody, grinning teeth would be the MoS.

You have NO idea how horrified/fascinated/riveted I/my brother was upon first seeing that...thing. I had to watch it twice more to get the full effects of its presence. It explained soooo much that I had forgotten from the books and that the theatrical version left out.

That, and plus, it was creepily hilarious. "Ahhhnd he deeeed, Gahndahlf. *pause* He deeeed." *evil sardonic grin*

*looks at Beth's post and blushes in embarassment*

You know, for some reason I never even THOUGHT of MoS when I read this chapter, but you are probably right I guess. It must be my fixation with vampires that leaves me in confusion at the moment, lol!

What the....?! Oh.my.god! I swear I didn't blink while reading this chapter. I may be somewhat confused (OK, a lot, then) with that misterious vampire creature in the tower room at the end (vampires in ME? mmmh...), but I am sure I will find out about him by the end, lol. I loved the fact Alura stood up against Denethor and Faramir despite everything, that is the kind of OC I like, still a fighter. But where is Boromir when you need him???

And since when do YOU write such nasty little cliffies, hmm?! ;) Please don't let us wait to long, I have NO clue as to where this story is going and as you now, that is one of the highest compliments I can give any of you. That creature was most certainly a surprise and now I simply have no idea what is going to happen next. Cannot wait to find out!

P.S.: After some thinking I came to realize why I liked this chapter so much: I think it is perhaps the first time that the evil, the dark site takes a physical form in your stories rather than being symbolized by the ring or the palantir, very interesting change which adds a whole new dimension to the story. As I said it will be interesting to see where you go from here.

Was that? Dare I guess...the MoS? *wicked grin* I can't describe how much I'm enjoying this story right now, but trust me, that's a good thing.

Alura had better not be as breakable as Valawen. SHe's a fighter, that Rohan one. And All of the men in this story (yes, ALL of them) need a good, swift kick in the nuts.

    Ahem. Do continue. ;)

    @ Beth:

You DO realize I am laughing my fluffy little bum off every time you post those funny dialogues, do you? :D

And don't you DARE give Elven the option of a door no. 3!!! The girl has stuff to finish (*coughs* "Winter's Heart" *coughs again*) and sequels to write. And I swear to you, Elven, if you don't get a move on with "Winter's Heart" any time soon I will blackmail Beth, Freya and a few others to help me finish the damn thing ourselves, lol! I cannot help it, I am in dire need of some Rivendell smut that involves the three "Els". *g*

And as for "Where The Shadows Lie" Hey, we could make that the "extended berserker edition sequel" after all, wouldn't that be fun for all those lovely OCs? *veg*

And I am with you 100 % of the way, there is nothing wrong with a little (or rather a lot of) suffering in the la-la-land of Frosty and Elven... *grins and ducks in order to avoid flying objects*

XD That's awesome, Sandra. Yes, they really DO need to get their acts together. None so much as Valawen, although Alisceon/Niriel comes close. Yes, Where The Shadows Lie (the extended? Hot Damn! edition) really made Alisceon suffer. Not to mention Eowyn. But mostly just the former. ;)

Not that I *mind* you making them suffer... *whistles innocently*

    Alura: WTF?!?
Me: Elves and Gondorians are hot. Trust me, dear, it's not about you.
    Alura: Sure it isn't.
Me: Well, at least not your PERSONALITY, anyway.
Alura: That's it. I am SO going into Shieldmaiden/Beserker mode the next time you speak.
    Boromir: *grins* Why wait?
    Alura: ...I hate you.

...So, Elven, what are your future plans? New fic? Finishing Winter's Heart? Door #3? :D
